Without knowing the specifics of the young man from Star Spencer, I don't think we can speak definitively about how that all transpired. However, it is possible that legitimate moves were made each time and the only thing that young man would have to sit out is the 15 day deal. With that being said, I would caution everyone about wanting the rigidness of the UIL here in Oklahoma. I have seen first had what the UIL does and it doesn't necessarily make the best decisions for the kid on a case by case basis. They are all over the place with where they land on legitimate moves and whether a parent is a coach or not, if there is any hint of moving for athletic purposes, it will get dicey. Also, I think the UIL puts too much power in the hands of both the sending school and the receiving DEC(District Executive Committee) and those entities have a vested interest in their school rather than the athlete in question.

It is a double edged sword and the pendulum can easily swing to far one way or the other. I personally believe that if a parent wants to move his/her child to a different district for a better opportunity regardless of the reason, that is the parent's right! I do believe that a better job needs to be done on proving legitimate moves, such as the receiving school doesn't need to be the one who verifies the residence. Someone without a dog in the fight needs to be doing this.
