Jones Longhorns @ Chandler Lions

I think it’s gonna be a dog fight. Both are really solid teams. Jones has to come out quick. It seems like they start out slow most games and come out with some of the ugliest 30 point wins.

There are a couple of good games in week 7 with huge playoff implications imo.

I'm taking

OCS over Millwood AT Millwood.
Chandler over Jones AT Chandler. I would go with Jones if they were playing at Jones.
Luther over Meeker AT Meeker.- This one could be a shootout
Holdenville over Kingston AT Holdenville-I think Kingston is the better team but could see an upset here.
Sequoyah Claremore over Pawhuska AT Seq. Claremore-I think Seq. Claremore got the wake up call and gets the win to shake up the district even more.

Obviously the 2 games that have top 10 teams in both will be the ones to watch. I'm intrigued by OCS. I really think, on paper, they win but at Millwood is not easy tas

Chandler and Jones, again, on paper are almost equal. I'm giving a touchdown for homefield advantage and think it will be decided by that or less. Then again, if Jones starts slow, Chandler by 14

District Standings
Both tied for 1st with +60 in points

It should be noted that it was a 7 point game in the 4th quarter against 4A #2 Poteau. Also Chandler was up 55-14 against Meeker when Chandler subbed everyone late 3rd qtr and Crossings Christian got absolutely handled by the Lions. Even their announcer said Chandler is the best team they played this year. Best Defense and best qb. Jones got blown out against Washington and Lincoln Christian and I'm not sure either of them teams beat Poteau.

I honestly don't think they blow Chandler out. They win yes. Chandler also lost the scrimmage to Heritage Hall by 7, but that was simply because of possessions. Chandler was driving when time expired. Still fun to talk about.

Washington and LC are different animals. I think everyone in is playing for deep runs and 2nd place this season. They have more D1 talent on their offense than most 6A schools have on their team.

LC is more than likely a semi final with a great chance to win 3A. Both teams would compete in 4A and be playoff teams in 5A I believe.

Vian played both as well, didn’t have a good showing after the first half against Washington (age and depth was the killer) and didn’t have those QB against LC (wouldn’t have changed the outcome but coulda been a bit more competitive).

It was competitive in 1st half. 14-0 with about a minute left in first half. I’m not trying to get Vian in the mix or anything, I’m just pointing out how good the Warriors really are. I agree with everything you say, Washington is the real deal at all positions. Their defense is really well coached and sound. Plus talented. Not playing hardly any players both ways at this level is such an advantage. I still think it’s Washington, then everyone else. If I’m proven wrong I will gladly apologize and congratulate the team who knocks them off. But I just don’t see it.

Jones started there 2nd string sophomore qb against Washington who has only seen maybe a handful of snaps. Not saying they would’ve beat Washington had there 1st string started but I do think it would’ve been a closer game. There only other loss was to the number 1 ranked team in 3a.

For Jones to win they have to start fast and stop the conservative play calling. I think their biggest disadvantage is in the kicking game. No field goal kicker and they kickoff and give a short field most of the time. They’ve got to try to at least make them start from the 35 in. I’m gonna say Jones wins a close one 35-31

Agreed. I do not think people understand that Washington has been building towards this season. They have top end talent, senior leadership, and great depth.
