Pros and cons in coaching in Texas vs Oklahoma.

I have coached in both. Pros for Texas, football is God, Money is good, almost always get to hire staff, most schools the AD position is tied to the head football job, and NCAA rules. Cons for Texas, expectations can be unrealistic in year one, the brotherhood of coaches is not the same. Don’t get me wrong coaches do clinics, but the circles are very localized. Pros for Oklahoma, the coaches in Oklahoma will help you in anyway. Very competitive across the board in being able to compete on the field. Cons for Oklahoma, work load in the classroom, pay is less, and AD may have be the head of another sport or a principal that has no ties to athletics just a title and some pay. I can’t badmouth either, it just depends on the where you want to be. I loved coaching at both for different reasons, but being from Texas the draw has always been to get back there.
