First ranking of the season

I had the chance over the past three days to see Purcell and Crooked Oak. I watched Millwood last week. Each of those three are legit teams.

Millwood is without their football guys and played a Destiny Christian team to the wire. They play disciplined defense and play selfless basketball to score. Probably more selfless than when they have their football guys. They are the most talented team in 3A, and will be the front runner to repeat.

Crooked Oak played Crossings Christian Friday night. With 3 minutes left in the third quarter, it was a three point game. Crooked Oak arguably has the best point guard in the state. He scored close to 40 last night. The game got away from them at the end when they were scrapping for steals. They will compete in 3A. Also think one of their starters is hurt.

Currently watching Purcell play, and man can they play. This team will have something to say about Millwood taking home the gold ball. They are very disciplined, well coached, and can flat out shoot the rock. MULTIPLE weapons. Defense is fundamental, and do a great job of contesting without fouling. I am very impressed with what I see from this team.

These three schools have a good shot at 3A. I know there are some other good teams out there as well. But I would be shocked if these three aren’t top 8.
