Sequoyah had a good chance to beat Rejoice at home. Vinita was blown out...

Agree about it’s not always wise to compare scores. And maybe if they played again, CS gets beat worse. All I know know is Vinta got ran out of the stadium with Rejoice missing their top receiver for the whole game and stud QB for 3 quarters.

I went to the game.  The score was close, but it was very sloppy.  Both teams had plenty of opportunities to win.  There were tons of turnovers (both sides) with very poor decision making by the QBs.  They were clearly impacted by the scale of the game, something that needs to change for the playoffs.  After scoring a TD to bring the team within 1 point with 3 minutes left, the Vinita coaches went for the win with a bizzare play call choice out of the swinging gate formation.  I am not sure why they did not go with their base offense while playing for the win.  (They head another head scratcher on a 4th and short in the 4th quarter where they tried an ill fated fake punt instead of using their normal offense.)  Vinita could not get off the field defensively at the end.  For that matter, Claremore Sequoyah stopped themselves far more often with inexplicable turnovers than Vinita did with defense.  The Eagles also had serious problems with the shot gun snaps, losing lots of yardage and burning downs.
