By the way, the talk of why Shaker left has to do with OC Calabrese.

Basically, even though Shaker is an FBS-level QB, who led Jenks to the title in year one, he was sharing snaps with Owens in the Spring. Something about Calabrese and Owens' dad being good friends. Small town politics.

If true, there's a lot of ways you can take argue this ordeal. You could say how dumb is Calabrese? You have a stud QB and you're still playing silly little games? Asinine. You could also argue about Shaker (or whoever made the decision) needing to grow up. If you run at the first sign of adversity, will that always be the case? If I were a D1 school, this would be a major red flag especially with the portal/NIL going haywire. You could also probably guess that there was some backroom deal(s) in play. Union probably saw what I saw...average QB play. Tempest is okay. Gilkey, meh. Maybe the 2026 kid (Ssettimba or something like that) in the future but right now, Shaker's addition takes Union to the top. The other QBs probably weren't going to be enough.

How mad are the Jenks fans/players/etc? Wow.

Also, I can't imagine the Union QBs loving this. A couple of them are probably hoping/asking their parents to move. Maybe not, but I would.
