The first postseason discussion I love to hear some people who were possibly there talked about was the Caddo vs Wright city match-up. I saw Wright city play a couple games this summer and it look pretty good. I know teams can have off nights, sick kids, injured kids, ineligible kids etc. I was a little surprised at the boat whipping Wright city took last night? (Assuming I saw the right score).

Obviously an impressive win for Caddo assuming Wright city is as good as a ranking is portraying them?

Is Wright city missing somebody? Does Caddo press? Some mismatch the exploited Wright city? Or just an off night?

Gotcha. I think #11 is a bit high for wright city even before this game. They are good, not sure they are #11 good? I was thinking a top 20osh team. Regardless, Caddo thumping them like that is impressive.

Decmeber 7th (CLASS A) GAMES "BAD LOSS":

Hammon defeats Canute (A #9)

Fargo-Gage defeats Mooreland (A #17) 1st round of the the Mooreland Holiday Classic

December 7th (CLASS A) GAMES " GOOD GAME/NOTABLE LOSSES"

Wellston (A)now 4-0 defeats Ripley (A #14)
Pittsburg (B #2) defeats Red Oak (A #19)
Oklahoma Christian Academy (A) now 1-3 vs Cyril (A #7)

OCA has play 4 ranked (3A teams x 2 & a 4A team & Cyril) their first 4 games.

Thoughts on these games? anyone know if Mooreland or Canute had personnel issues? or just had an off night?

its a long season. Injuries, kids having colds, kids transitioning from football, coaches figuring out playtime, it all seem fickle, but they are all issues that can cause less that optimal effort. You add that in with an occasional team that plays with their hair on fire and stuff happens. I am sure it was just a blip on the radar. Regardless, I am a firm believer in losses only help good, well-coached teams get better. ( I stress Good, Well Coached Teams).

They were pre-ranked for a reason, it’s early. They have A-B and Duke next week. I haven’t seen them so I don’t want to judge, but you gotta beat teams that are not ranked and you have to compete or occasionally defeat the teams that are ranked. Otherwise, you are a regionals team and not an area/state team. Time will tell. I would like to watch them soon.

Porter has a potential matchup with Panama in the Porum Tournament if both teams matchup on Saturday, Should be an interesting game, I give the edge to Panama though just cause they are the better shooting team
