Smells Like Playoff Spirit
Looking for the best classification in Oklahoma high school football? Why don’t you say so! 2A is rocking like a hurricane again this year. (The OSSAA says thank you, you’re welcome!) Here are some week eight games you oughta know…
GotW:
Adair @ Rejoice – Can you tell everybody that the Warriors are the man in District 8 (like in past years)? The new kids on the block seek to take over management. The Eagles have been dynamite offensively, relying on their quarterback for big plays by ground or air, while the Warriors look to tone things down and keep this game in the 20s.
KaEo:
Prague @ Jones - On the crazy train that is District 2, both teams still know the race is on for 1st while simultaneously facing the prospect of ending up 4th. The Longhorns want to avoid running with the Devils (& force Prague to pass), while the born to run Reds look to show the home crowd it’s not easy being green.
Luther @ Perry –Home field for round one of the playoffs is likely to be critical for whoever can capture the 2 seed in District 1. Lions will want to hit the road (and the corners) to turn on the speed, while the Maroons will be satisfied to cruise at three yards per play if necessary.
Kiefer @ Metro – I gotta feeling there will be nowhere to run in this contest, as both are solid passing teams in a tough topside of District 7. Patriots need to continue reestablishing their footing, while the Trojans are looking to break through into the upper echelons of the district and 2A.
Community @ Bethel –- It’s the final countdown, meaning game two (of a possible three) in the run for second place in District 3. Royals are carried by their quarterback to run or throw. Will the Wildcats be up to the blinding lights when facing their toughest competition since Washington?
