First things first, I hope everyone is having a good holiday! I'm certainly blessed to see Tonkawa playing football during the Thanksgiving season for the first time in 9 years and very proud of what this Buccaneer has accomplished this season! Very exciting time indeed.
Rejoice over Crossings: from my understanding Rejoice were missing key contributers the first time they met. Rejoice has too much firepower.
Stroud over CHA: I have literally seen no film on CHA so I I really can't give a fair opinion but I do know that Stroud is a really good football team and their victory over Morrison convinced me that they'll make the semis. If anyone has a good reason that CHA will win please elaborate!
Commerce over Fairview: this is really tough game to call honestly this game could go either way but I think with that Ibarra kid will pull away in a tight one.
And finally Tonkawa vs Hobart: I despise making bold predictions for any team I cheer for (I'm superstitious lol) but I don't mean to be downer for my team but I will say if this Buccaneer team comes out and makes the same kind of mistakes they did last week they may not be leaving Hobart Oklahoma victorious. I've watched Hobart against Minco and Fredrick and Hobart is probably the best team Tonkawa has seen thus far. Hobart isn't the most physical team out there but my goodness do they have speed. Hobart is quick at every position especially their RB and QB. If they're able to spread out Tonkawa with a balanced attack then that could spell trouble. Hobart possess a really solid defense as well.
What does Tonkawa need to do to advance?
1.Limit the penalties and BALL SECRUITY.
2. More play action passes! Im guessing Hobart is going to stack the box to stop Hampton and Shephard, if Tonkawa is to have success we need to keep the Bearcat defense on their toes and have them guessing.
3. Bend but don't break! I expect Hobart to get their plays in but if Tonkawa can weather the storm I believe our physicality on defense could potentially wear down the Bearcats.
4. TRENCHES! I'm just a firm believer in whoever wins the battles at the line usually wins the game.
I do hope I'm providing accurate info and again please elaborate on the other games or if you have some kind scoop on Hobart let's talk about it! Good luck to the remaining 8 teams and... GO BUCS!
