Football coach should be your AD not your basketball coach

In an ideal scenario, the athletic director should not be a coach of a specific sport, especially at larger schools, in my opinion. This helps minimize bias in the hiring process for coaches. If a school doesn't have the financial resources to separate the roles, it ultimately depends on which sport the community values the most. I've encountered football coaches who serve as ADs and tend to hire football-focused individuals for every open position, but there are also those who strive to ensure fair treatment for all sports. I have known far less basketball coaches who are ADs but every one of them have been selfish with their hires. That is a small sample size though.
