I agree with you. They are an exciting team to watch though. Love the pace.
With stats above and now that the new year is tomorrow, here is my thoughts:
1. OCS (Honestly this is tough for me, but going off Luke Gray being a nightmare of a matchup for 3A teams I’ve watched currently)
2. Crooked Oak (This is currently, they have played the most games, and have the most success against teams with a winning record. One blemish to #4 4A Bethany. We will see if Bethany holds strong and how good/bad of a loss that turns out to be in the coming weeks.)
3. Millwood (They have continued to win. Their guard play is not what it had been in years past, and look vulnerable to pressure and discipline, which I think the two above have.)
4. Victory Christian (They have quality wins, but I’m honestly questioning how strong the Lincoln, Cascia, Metro, Rejoice teams are, and they constantly beat each other up.)
5. Idabel (Fun to watch. I believe they got challenged and learned some things this weekend. I definitely am pulling for them, and can’t wait to watch them again, I believe 5 is a fair spot for them at this time)
6. Cascia Hall (Three games so far. Time will tell what they are made of.)
7. Roland (I just simply say time and time again, Eddie Lewis is one of the best in the business. 30 point blowout by 2A Pocola exposed some weaknesses in this team though)
8. Metro Christian (They are good when they want to be good. Seem moody the few times I have watched them.)
Upset Alerts:
Lincoln Christian, Atoka, Kellyville, Alva
I generally concur with your observations, but...
A little ironic that you have Cascia Hall at 6 and Metro at 8 and are questioning Victory's strength of schedule. That conference is brutal. Metro lacks explosive guards, but has great size and shooting. Cascia Hall has athletes all over, but lack a physical inside presence. Rejoice is virtually all sophomores and returns very little experience. Holland Hall moved up to a 5A district but still plays everyone. Victory is just balanced enough to play with and beat all those trypes of teams. When motivated, Chris Mason can take over games.
I’m going to be honest, I don’t get to watch them much. I only see these teams on NFHS, Skordle, etc. My ex-wife lives in Tulsa so I avoid there at all cost. Lmao. I enjoy hearing your opinions on those teams. Gives me some insight on what they have. beltownradio and C-3PO who y’all have as the top 8 before tomorrow when games start back up?
