Exactly.
That’s my issue. It’s not a jealous of Ringling. It just goes to show that if you win games and bring home trophies people will defend and justify anything you do. Doesn’t matter if it is morally wrong. Doesn’t matter if everywhere you been there has been controversy. Heck just give a speech saying you turned boys into men and all is forgiven.
It’s like the basketball coach last year that played stall ball. Hall of Fame coach, chicken crap strategy and people justified it because he won a lot of games. He played scared. He didn’t teach the kids anything that game except that they were an inferior team.
If you want to call me jealous. Go ahead. Call my ramblings dumb, idiotic, etc. that’s okay. I’ll die on that mountain. It’s my opinion. Unpopular, I get it. Go and defend your coach because he gave a heartfelt speech at an awards show.
John Wooden once said “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”
But are you not judging me? The junk incident was a “rumor”. A grown man grabbed his junk and made a derogatory comment (westernokies words) in front of 15-18 year old boys. Coach Koons has been fired or resigned everywhere he has gone and there has always been controversy with him.
I know why he is still coaching. Because he wins. If he didn’t win and had these same incidents from town to town to town you and I both know he wouldn’t be coaching. I’m not judging Coach Koons.
At what time do you stand up for the kids? This isn’t his first rodeo where he’s done something controversial.
