Fairview 32 Gore 28 final. Congratulations to the YellowJackets on winning there 3rd State Championship. Everything went there way Tonight. Gore started to become one dimensional and Fairview kinda did what they wanted wether through the air or on the ground and just wore gore out. It became apparent the longer the game went on that it didn't matter what Gore did. Fairview would respond with a quick score every time.
Great run for those seniors at Gore but this was the last game you would want to have to face adversity for the first time this season in and it came back to bite them.
Great job Yellowjackets!!! What’s crazy is Fairview will be the team to beat next year as well. Gore is a heck of ball club but the longer the game went on the more it played in Fairviews favor. It turns out that Fairview has the best offensive line and they hit pretty hard too!!
If the Fairview team that played last night shows up next Saturday, Gore is going to be in for a dog fight. Fairview dominated the trenches all night last night. Good luck to both teams and no disrespect meant towards Fairview but I’ll be rooting for the gold ball to come to the east side of the state.
You couldn't have said more so what this game was. It was a dogfight the entire game.

What a great game - both teams were physical but Fairview had the edge upfront - gore rb getting hurt affected their offensive game plan and Fairview took advantage of this- that Fairview rb is a stud and had like 36 carries- congrats to Fairview!

100% agree with that statement. Fairview had an answer to whatever Gore did. Never had face that and when they did, couldn’t overcome. Heck of a game though!

Fun game to watch! Always love watching state championships because the kids leave it all on the field and the atmosphere is electric, and this one did not disappoint. Congrats to Fairview. Does anyone know how many senior starters Fairview loses? I know Gore loses almost everyone.

I'm not sure starters but I know there was 13 at senior night in total and not all of them start on either side of the ball
What a fantastic game in all honesty but WHAT DID I TELL YOU
You said 56-7.
To be fair two of Gore's touchdown drives were on short fields. If not for those along with Fairview not punching it in on 4th & goal and not having to settle for a field goal towards the end of the half it could have been a 42-14 win for the Jackets

Thats a stretch, if Gore scores after the fumble recovery your looking at 21-7 Gore. Also, Gore failed to punch it in from the 5 before half due to a fumble. Missed opportunities on both sides of the ball but Gore had more missed opportunities. They created fumbles but couldn’t recover, put Fairview in 4th and long several times but didn’t make a play or were call for PI. All in all it was a battle and Fairview made the plays at the end of the game to win. Congrats to the Jackets.
What a game. Obviously the closest game of the year for us and very well-played by Gore. Hats off to the Pirate fans also, they traveled well and supported their team admirably. I said it all year and have been ranting for years that the difference at this point is special teams. Gore missed a FG, Fairview did not. (Did you know that HS goalposts are 4'10" wider than college goalposts?) Also, even with our awkward rugby kickoffs, sometimes they work out and in the 4th we recovered a bungled kickoff at a critical time. I hope we recover from graduation. Off the top of my head we lose maybe 5 starters but they are all impact players. Toughest to replace will be 12, 25 and 54. RB Blake Perez #25 should be MVP.

Do not know what Game you watched Fairview did not hold the edge, 3 PI on 4th down, and 3 fumbles did in Gore not the Fairview O-Line Gore held the edge is yards from scrimmage all knight. But the RB getting hurt, the penalties on 4th down and, fumbles cost Gore. Dog fight of a game way to play both teams. Great season Gore hold your head high.
