I would have agreed about 5 weeks ago but somehow the last 3 weeks, they have played really really well. I'm saying that and I honestly can't stand VC.
i agree, I don't see how Chandler keeps this close. Love them or not VC has a field and sideline full of athletes, I just can't see one player running for 350 on VC defense. Way too much speed for that to happen. Maybe chandler can somehow run downhill straight at them and score 35 or more to keep up. Just seems like a matchup nightmare for Chanler.
Not saying it will be done, but Beggs already showed the blueprint for beating VC is to pound the rock. Martel ran for 339 on them.
I was at the game Friday night and Eufaula could not figure them out. It's not just that Eufaula is young and had a bunch of injuries and missing people, they had no answer. They have a great DC there too that has had Eufaula as one of the top defenses in the state for the last several years. I'm not saying Eufaula is on Washingtons level this year either but they were a very solid group again. They had given up 40 to Vian to open the season but other than a late TD by Vian, held them to 7 in the 2nd half and gave up 21 to Idabel(the only 2 games Eufaula gave up more than 14 points before Friday). Other than that, their starting defense hasn't given up many points and SC manhandled them. I'm not sleeping on SC, I had them ranked #4 coming in and think they should've beat RC as well. They are my pick to win it now.
I think eufaula was a good team but I believe the playoffs showed they were a bit overrated
I wouldn't say we were overrated. Up until Hugo, we were fairly healthy. That first, cold, wet game got quite a few guys hurt. QB played the last 3 games with a bad throwing shoulder and hip. Our first two running backs were hurt and young, the #2 running back played about 10 snaps the last 4 games. We moved our #2 wideout to run some at running back and he hurt an ankle against Idabel. He did play the last 2 but wasn't nearly as effective. The oline was decimated with injuries at Hugo and the week leading up to Idabel. They still beat a very good Idabel team, struggled but figured out a way against Henryetta and then more injuries finished them off last week. No excuses. That is why you have to build depth. We had too many young guys not ready to step up. Finally, Sequoyah Claremore is a very good team. They beat us at every level, including coaching. They are good, very well disciplined and very respectable. The entire staff and players were classy all night. You don't see that often anymore. I'm pulling for them. For obvious reasons, I'd like to see them

Yes, I think the one thing chandler can do is try and control the ball between the tackles and keep VC off the field. I've seen Chandler and Beggs both. Beggs was pick your poison with multiple athletes which makes it hard to stack the box, plus they had extra incentive to play with their former QB playing for VC this year. Not sure Chandler has those types of weapons on the edge to keep VC honest. I feel VC will score points and try to make it a track meet. Every team has a chance at this point just looks like a tough matchup.

Blueprint in early weeks of their season maybe but as we saw with the Prague game that didn’t work as well as we all predicted
1. Washington 2. Seq. Claremore 3. Millwood 4. Kiefer 5. Jones 6. Chandler 7. Idabel 8. Victory Christian
Kiefer at 4 with VCS at 8? How do you see Kiefer 4 spots higher than a VCS team that beat them AT Kiefer?
Just my opinion. Kiefer just took out the #4 team in Vian so that's where I put them. Really doesn't matter on ranking high school teams anyway it's either win and advance or head to gym for basketball.

Oh I’m not saying it’s a guarantee by any means. Also, I don’t think Prague is as good as Chandler, especially not the back.
Prague definitely not as good as Chandler. I love Prague and have many friends in Red Devil country, but I've been saying Prague is overrated all year. They played Vian and Luther, and barely squeaked out the win against Luther in the 1st game of the season. They got blown out by Vian. Non biased opinion, VC wins by a touchdown. I do believe Chandler has a good chance to win the game too. Should be a good one.

Couple close friends that are involved in the VC community. They’re anticipating an all out war of a game. Happy for VC and happy for Chandler, Lions have been so close these last few years to breaking into the top 4 except for being crossed up with Marlow.

I've seen all these teams play except Idabel and Millwood. From what I've seen I would rank VC a little closer to the middle, but this is very close to the top 4 or 5 I would think. I know VC has a bunch of people rooting against them with their issues. With this logic you would contend that VC would have no chance of beating Beggs (lost by 30), Sperry is better than Beggs but not Kiefer or VC who was beat by Beggs? Kiefer beat Beggs and everyone else but VC. So, who's truly the best of this bunch. You could argue that Eufaula should be better than Idabel, but Idabel is still playing and if they played again, I bet even the Eufaula fans don't truly think they would beat them. Is a team in Newkirk that lost 6 games really as good as Jones? Heck Washington just got tested.
I watched VC play Kiefer, and it was obvious who the better team was, the game was poorly officiated, which took away Kiefer's physical advantage and extended multiple VC drives not to mention the 2 fumbles that was given back to VC one being a TD. Kiefer still had a chance to win if not for the RB being called short at the goal line on 4th down towards the end. I would feel more confident now in picking Kiefer to win if these two matched up again. Every single break went VC way. Truth be told, I bet Kiefer would look forward to that matchup and I bet VC wants no part of it!
Looks to me like that one loss may have got Kiefer's attention and they have refocused. Hard to stay undefended and they have beat two extremely good teams after that lose. Not sure if everyone realizes how good Vian and Vinita really were!
VC has rolled too. Maybe they will get that matchup in the end, heck crazier things have happened!!!
It's all win and move on at this point. No more second chances for any of these teams if they don't play to their full potentials. Every one of these teams are more than capable of taking a team out if they don't play sharp.
@ prodigy10. Well said. I don't know anything about these team to be real. I started following Kiefer scores due to a friend constantly talking about them. I have seen them play 3 times, when they played Beggs I really went to to watch Martel kid,he played but definitely not 100% or it seemed. Watch the VC game and agree 100% with your last comments. I drove to Vian and watched Kiefer completely dominant the whole game. So guess I have jumped on the band wagon for Kiefer, fun little scrappy team to watch play. Definitely planning on going to watch them against Jones and would like to see Kiefer vs VC for the championship.
