Looks like Kiefer's offense scored 40 something in 3 quarters on Vinita and the QB had 3 INT's. That seems like a lot of points from an offense that's not very explosive? I did hear the QB was limping in the second half after Kiefer got to him a few times but not sure that effected his arm or the outcome unless he was a good defensive player. I haven't seen Vian, but I know Vinita, Beggs, Noah and VC are very talented teams. A couple with D-1 type talent. I'm curious to see how the Vian Running back compares to Beggs Martel (Kansas), Noah Okoye (Georgia and 23 others) and the VC RB. Also is the Vian QB as good as Vinita, Noah and VC have? If they have better talent than these schools Kiefer or anyone left will have a tough time stopping them. Kiefer did obviously very well against these 4. Kiefer is very fast, very physical and can be imposing which becomes frustrating for the teams they play. It seems like Kiefer enjoys the underdog role. In the games I've seen they do play with a chip, but I can see why. Most thought Vinita would roll them too.
I will say with Beggs doing what they did to Rejoice (enough been said) and if they can play with that same purpose, it may be a rough night for Idabel. Unless Idabel can match Beggs physicality up front and get to Martel before he gets started it will be a long night. If they decide to load the box on Martel, play man coverage and not get to the QB Beggs has maybe the most athletic receiver in 2A that can fly (future D-1). Just judging from the Eufaula score with Henryette and with Eufaula beating Idabel I just don't see Idabel staying with Beggs if they play well. Seems like Beggs has also heard enough and may have something to prove.
Haven't heard much about what happened with Jones, Millwood, Eufaula and Davis? Is everyone going with it snowed and the wind blew? It is November and If that's truly the case all teams are playing in the same conditions which are not going to improve, and these teams will have no chance. Maybe the teams with strong defenses that play more physical are just built more for the conditions? Or is it possible once districts crossed some teams are getting more exposed with some districts having a lot stronger teams than the others? Curious to see how it plays out.
yes, because neutral field would have changed the fact Idabel’s o line was holding and even chop blocking the eufaula d line every play of substance.
