To argue that you just simply "find a way to beat private schools" is laughable. Let me go recruit some kids real quick that can match the kids they recruited.
blanket statement and an ignorant comment. I'm sure there might be some recruiting at some private schools, but to say that all private schools that are having or had success because of recruiting is an excuse

Metro in a close one over Cascia LC wins big Stigler beats HH Verdi 28-21. Demons keep it respectable
Verdi over Stigler LC over Metro
LC over Verdi in the finals
Save the private school argument for a different scenario. Verdi, P-T, Kingfisher, etc. run good programs in multiple sports that are consistently competitive, retain good coaches, invest in facilities and have solid public schools. Families with athletes are moving to those places. The competitive disadvantage is much smaller for them vs. other 3A schools. Still there yes, but not nearly as significant as schools who have to deal with a higher rate of poverty, higher absenteeism, higher % single parent households, location challenges, community apathy, coaching turnover, etc. Those schools will never close the gap on the privates or the Verdi's, P-T's, Kingfisher's, etc. *Sorry, just don't know enough about Stigler to make any assumptions - other than they've played some good football/softball in the last few years*

Oklahoma should treat the Private School situation the same as Texas. Let them play in the largest class in the state. That would end the recruiting vs playing hometown kids debate.

Hell no then you would have 6A coaches pissed off about it

If Verdi makes it to play HH, they will lose by 2 tds min. LC and HH in final. As far as Metro, they haven't been challenged yet... will be interesting to see if CH gives them a good game friday.

Disagree with Metro not being challenged. They beat Poteau 35-31. It was 21-21 entering the 4th. If that’s not challenged, I don’t know what is.

I agree the Poteau game is a challenge. I would say they haven’t been challenged by a multi-dimension team that can run and throw it. The Perkins game was closer than the final. It was within a TD late in the 3rd quarter and then Metro pulled away, but nothing like they’re going to get the rest of the way

Both of your statements are ignorant. I grew up inner city. Dirt Poor. When I was in high school, my parents would have sent me to a private school but couldn't afford it. Any given week, some of my teammates struggled to be eligible. Every week. Some of our best athletes dropped out. I had photocopy pages of text books. Never a text book year round. Coaches did what they could. Kids who had parents who could afford it sent them to HH or CC or OCS. Kids with high athletic ability from families that could easily do it sent their kids to private schools or just moved to another district, They just don't show up their senior year. Kids in private schools have been there awhile...most cases.
I graduated in a rough high school, left, got my higher education elsewhere. By God's grace I made my very small fortune and returned. I would have sent my kids to a private school if I had my current resources. Both are athletes and attended good schools in another state. They are now grown so it's a moot point.
Bottom line is, private education has an advantage in athletics, especially in the OKC and Tulsa metro areas. Rural school districts don't have the options unless they relocate. Most people cannot afford that.
Private schools should have their own separate route to a championship. How that should be structured, I don't have an answer for that.
For public school districts in a poor rural county or inner city,,,a response of "get better" to beat a privately run school is short sighted and in itself ignorant and ill informed. Trust me, if they could, they would have already.

Watched several streams last night. Some good ball games. I’ve seen Cascia play several times this year. They didn’t even show up. After Metros first score, They looked deflated. On another note Metro needs to upgrade their video and audio, it’s terrible. Looks like an old VCR camera. Congrats to the 4 moving on. Verdigris played a solid game, all 4 teams in the semi’s playing good football!
