Do we need it? Yes privates have advantages but many have mixed opinions
I feel like it's not too far off but I mean hey with 2A, A and B being split nothing surprises me, Bigger question is what do you do with the 8 man privates if they split everyone? Force them to go to 11 man?
Private Schools are great institutions for higher learning. But they are allowed to control their enrollment, and who they let in. Public schools are not allowed to actively recruit. The Playing field is definitely skewed. Its like comparing Division 2 to Division 1, you are allowed the same amount of kids, but don't have the same advantages that Division 1 schools have.

About how much more do coaches at private schools make compared to coaches at public schools? Any idea?

6 team playoff? That whole setup sounds brutal for everyone involved. Unless, of course, you coach at a public school..

Not saying it will happen but if the split happens this has to be an option at least....Can't force a team with 8 Man ADM to play 11 unless they choose too.

It has been the OSSAA standard to not force private schools to do ANYTHING they don't want to do. But that is an OSSAA situation and my momma always taught me that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, and it will be a cold day in you know where before I say anything nice about the OSSAA.

I would say 95% of head coaches in public schools would all have the same opinion. Private schools should have their own playoffs. It should've happened a long time ago.

I never have asked them. I just know that they have very large staffs, and are very well equipped.
Generally coaches at private schools make less than they do at public schools. There are some exceptions though.
Were you a private school Head Coach? Just curious as to where this information comes from, because it isn't public knowledge like public school teacher salaries are.

I can tell you first hand this isn’t true. Some ISDs can dictate a rate equivalent to a private, but most larger districts have set stipends district wide. For example Jenks is around $3,700-$4,200 in-season stipend, plus a spring and summer. Tulsa Public schools uses $2,700-$3,300 for the entire year. Some ISDs use $1,500-$3,000. However I also know of some that pay $7,500 but they are more rare and are the ones that also boast excellent facilities across the board and great admin support. I personally know of a couple of privates that use $10,000-$12,000 stipends and one at $15,000. It’s all dependent on the district, but privates have much more flexibility in their pay scales and generally speaking rate out higher on average.
This is strictly speaking in terms of stipends for coaching only, not teaching salaries etc.
