With the new ADM numbers coming out. Mount St Mary will be in 5A for basketball and McGuinness will dropped down to 4A for hoops. Community Christian will be in 4A as well due to the private school rule of being in the state tournament 2 out of 3 years. OCS may be in 4A as well since they were in the state tournament in 2020 before Covid canceled that and again in 2022.

I saw Perkins play multiple times this summer and I can attest that they are a top 8 team. Very good and well rounded. I will be shocked if they aren't in the state tournament. Their HC does a very good job also.

They are a very good team! Replacing last years senior will be tough because he was like glue for them. Also their bench isn't all that deep. They'll need to find a fill in role player because the top 4 are THAT good.
The OSSAA needs to have private schools in their own post season. This happens all the time where private schools flood one class. They should never bump down in my opinion. If they bump up they either stay there or they go up in class.

Name one reason why they need to do this? Everytime it gets brought up to the OSSAA it gets voted down everytime. It's almost like that time the Plainview football coach wanted all privates in 6A which there's no way that would happen
Privates have an advantage yes just like the Tulsa area publics but I can tell you're not a fan of privates and rule 14.

I think private school education is great. But as you said, they have an advantage and when there's an advantage what could be done to level the playing field? My child's school only has the kids that are live in the school district or kids that have always gone to school there. As a parent I don't see why the OSSAA couldn't make the change. When all the private schools get stacked up in the same class that's pretty tough. I have a friend whose daughter plays volleyball and he said every year in 3A and 4A private schools win state. He showed me the brackets last year in 3A and 4A there were 5 private schools in both classes. I guess Victory Christian has won state 5 years in a row. Is there any states that have a private school division and public school division? And what is Rule 14?
If I could afford sending my kid to a private school I'd send him. I don't think they're bad, I just think they should compete in the playoffs against each other for state championships instead of against public schools.
