Area II Consolation Tournament in (Kellyville HS) NEOK
Riverfield 56 Stuart 50
Regent 42 Okay 24
Riverfield game is competitive throughout. Riverfield was in foul trouble throughout the game. Stuart's Conner Clayton had 30 pts, he is a very good player that can do it all. Riverfield's Kam Snell had 30 pts, he came in and filled the gap the Clinton brothers usually fill. Two good teams.
Regent took control of the game very quickly. Regent matched up very well with Okay, the have a high post 6'6 and a low post 6'4 with guards that prevent Okay from getting on perimeter shots. Beitel from Regent had 23 of Regent's 42 points. THIS is the regent team that huntersheppard was talking about being a top 5 team earlier in the season. When Beitel is playing (Just came back from 6 week injury)they are a force to be reckoned with.
Riverfield vs Regent will be a good game. They played earlier in the season with Riverfield winning by ~20. that was the game where Beitel was injured early in the 1st quarter. It should be a good game. Wellston did beat Regent in Regionals, Beitel was still not playing (in fact, it was the last game he sat out due to injury). Wellston will struggle to beat Regent is Regent gets past Riverfield tomorrow.
Okay will just get better and better. They do start 3 sophmores and 2 freshman. #14 Freshman (not sure his name) will have to work on creating his own shot over the next few year. But if you leave him open to take shots, he will beat you. Nice run by Okay, They should be a top 10-15 preseason team next year, IMO

Wow on both finishes. SW Covenant & Carnegie were getting some unranked love before the playoffs. It seemed like Canute was a ranked team NOT getting any love (Me Included). There mantra (on this forum) seemed to be "Talented Enough, Not Disciplined Enough" It sounds Like Canute talent part was definitely right! Congrats to SW Covenant & Canute pulling off nice victories over quality opponents in a playoff environment!
Agree that each of these could go either way as well. Good luck to each
Area I: Arapaho-Butler over Vici by 5-7 points.
Area II: Regent Prep finally fully healthy over Riverfield
Area III: Canute over SW Covenant.
Area IV: This one is a toss up for me. Both teams lost to Tushka with Davenport playing that game a little closer, while both beat Velma-Alma by 9 with Davernport having to go to overtime to do that. Looks like Caddo has played tougher schedule on the year, so I'm going to take them in a close one.
greencountry: Who are you picking to win each of these Area Finals?

Area I Garber 61 Texhoma 50
Area II Vanoss 58 Wellston 40
Area III Hydro Eakly 52 Cyril 49
Area IV Tushka 56 Rattan 54
Garber & Vanoss pretty confident Hydro I think they will win, I think Cyril will keep it close Tushka/Rattan is a coin toss. To me
greencountry: I agree with you on feeling good about Garber and Vanoss winning tonight.
Area I Garber over Texhoma. Think it will be close for awhile but Garber ends up winning 7-10 points.
Area II Vanoss over Wellston. Vanoss is so well coached.
Area III Hydro Eakly over Cyril Cyril can score it and is capable of getting hot and causing problems. Have played an extremely good Mountain View-Gotebo team close twice. Shot selection can be an Achilles heel for them though plus I like Hydro's size in this one, so I'll take the defending champs. I think Cyril will get in tomorrow night
Area IV Rattan over Tushka Rattan won by 14 at beginning of the year, but Tushka is playing different than they did a month ago (see Caddo) Expect to see a close hard fought game tonight. Going to be a real fight for the two spots in this Area.

Is there a state tournament blank bracket out as of yet? Locations? Area champs vs area runners up? Etc??? Looking at logistics to see if I can make it.

I don’t think that we are going to see anything from OSSAA until after the Wed morning coaches meeting. Here is the most recent OSSAA statement:
CLASS A AND B STATE TOURNAMENT WILL BE A THREE-DAY TOURNAMENT AND BEGIN ON THURSDAY. COACHES MEETING WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2 AT 9 AM. THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE PLAYED AT JIM NORICK ARENA, AND TWO SUB-SUBS, MUSTANG HIGH SCHOOL AND WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL.
1. 51% gun to my head today, I'm picking Canute (I'm finished picking against them, lol) 2. 51% gun to my head today, I'm picking Texhoma (core key players are seniors that were there last year as juniors) 3. 75% Riverfield 4. 75%Caddo

ALL 8 TEAMS HAVE A LEGIT SHOT IMO.
Just a reminder that before the season began, Canute was ranked #6. So I am not sure what occurred during the regular season that resulted in them losing. Their losses were to quality teams. (Hammon went 14-15, but they are not a bad team per say). I want to "read the book" about Canute's 2021-22 hs boys basketball season now. Book looks to not be finished yet either.
greencountry Canute is plenty capable. I expect the game with Cyril to be very close and think it could go either way.
-Cyril barely beat Carnegie who initially knocked off Canute in opening round of Regionals -Both lost by double digits to Hydro-Eakly -Both lost to Seiling -Both beat Calumet with Canute doing it more handily -Both played in the Area Consolation Championship game last year as well. Cyril won in B and Canute lost in A
Good luck to both quality programs. I'm taking Cyril by a couple of buckets tonight.
