Sounds like you didn’t guard them. If you want to watch kids jack shoots up every 20 secs like a pick up game go watch AAU.

Lets just be honest, recruiters aren't going to HS games like they used to. College coaches rely on social media and the AAU Circuit to find recruits and it isn't going to change back. School ball is more for school spirit and their community, it is unfortunate but its the reality of the sport.

If you're trying to prepare your athletes for the next level, why not have a shot clock like they do in college? They will have to learn to adjust to it eventually, right?

You first said it didn’t happen in March. Well it does. Often. Will again in 2 weeks.
You then said the good teams don’t do it. You were wrong. If you know anything about hoops, GOOD teams are great at burning 2min off the clock if they choose.
You said only small school teams do it. That was wrong. Now you say it’s once. The “only once” occurrence with the Darko-Wford game was how extreme it was. That only happens once. But stalling to burn off 2-3 minutes a qtr happens ALL THE TIME. Dude it’s ok to say you were wrong.

State tournament proving it needs a shot clock. Of the 7 games I’ve watched, 6 teams held it for long periods not even looking to shoot. Also can’t say that only bad teams do this or get up and guard. Douglas is very athletic, plays really good defense, & gets up & pressures. Kingfisher was able to hold onto the ball for the majority of the game.

Again not knocking the coaches, do whatever it takes to win. I think the kingfisher coach is the best in the state &I’d hold it too against Douglas. But kingfisher was still looking for opportunities to score & would run sets to score. The majority of the others didn’t even look at the goal.

It’s not good for the growth of the game or adapting to where the game has gone.
