Evaluation of teams (Class B boys)

Well it looks like class B doesn't care about strength of schedule. Springer does have 10 win to only one loss. That loss is the ONLY team Springer has played with a winning record. Oh well. Looks like the buddy system is alive and well... Same can be said for the girls as well.

The buddy system is the problem with the rankings now a days IMO

There was a 6A girls coach that legit wanted districts for the bigger classes instead of rankings but I doubt it passed

Three.      Three teams in the top ten in class B have similar wins. Unless THEY want to devalue Cyril (who is ranked lower than Arapaho-Butler), Vanoss and  Caddo. You/we don't see class A diminishing Pittsburg, Roff, Mt. V-G or even Turner for defeating Vanoss, Caddo, A-B and Cyril. 

Funny or weird or sad that class B coaches seem to pick and choose, or more than likely talked into ranking certain teams.
Prove themselves? How has Glencoe proved themselves?  Side note; I think Glencoe's strength of schedule this year is good enough to have them ranked where they are.

Springer, I guess has proved themselves. I mean they've only lost one game and it was to a winning team.... The ONLY team they have played with a winning record so far this season... Oh, and the team that beat them (Turner) is now ranked lower than Springer. I wonder how Springer would do against Okarche and Rock Creek.. (The teams that beat Turner)


Are Earlsboro and Varnum getting slighted??? Especially Varnum???

Earlsboro has three losses; one to Varnum and the other two are to undefeated teams at this point in the season.
Varnum has four losses, looks bad bad I guess, really bad if you don't look at who beat them. Like I said in an earlier post Varnum is athletic, has good size for class B, but young and not a lot of experience. But who did beat them? Pittsburg, Roff, Oktaha and Strother. Three of those teams are undefeated at this pint in the season... and the other team is a once ranked very competitive 2A team.
Both Earlsboro and Varnum won their games last week and still dropped in the rankings...
How the heck is Boswell not ranked in the top 10? Oh, Oh yeah,   can't have to many teams in one region ranked that high I guess???

Why is BP still ranked higher than Boswell? Similar records,         until you look at and compare their schedules (yeah, yeah I know some of y'all do not take much value into SOS,    unless it fits your narrative). Both have two losses to very good teams, but that's where the similarities end. Boswell has played a better or stronger schedule.

I'm beginning to think Ft. Cobb-Broxton will break into the top 8 and will be one of the top seeds in area III. I'm fine with that if they keep winning,    but Boswell, and Buffalo Valley could go undefeated the rest of the season and not make the top 8... BV and Varnum are a lot alike, similar records and similar SOS and they will get NO credit for their tough schedules. I also think either Forgan or Tyrone or both will make the top 8. GOTTA GET THE NW TEAMS TO STATE!!!!! If the playoffs were to come out today those two teams would have to play/beat Mt. V-G or Duke or both AND Goodwell to make it to state.  I could see Glencoe going west to area I...

Looking back at last year. Here are the rankings going into the playoffs from last year with the round that the team was eliminated and the opponent that eliminated them. I have also included some unranked teams that advanced to Area tournament and some teams that are considered this year in the rankings.  I think it's interesting to look back and see how things came out the previous year and how accurate the rankings were. It is pretty obvious that the coaches got the top two teams right.

I don't care. But       okay,      if you want to go there.         What REGION were the state finalist from last year??? Not area, but region, (If the best teams (1-8) are from one region rank them accordingly.)  The OSSAA would never send a top ranked team from the SE to the NW region... Just think about how or who or which teams get sent where.    Overload the the east teams together and give the west teams weak west teams that are fringe east to area I or II, kinda like stacking the deck and sure the STRONG west teams will go to state,  leaving worthy east teams out.

I get why some teams can go where they request,       sometimes. But that's mainly Lomega girls,   they deserve it,    but that's mainly to avoid Hammon until they get to state. MY OPINION....

Just a little rant.

There's no way Lomega goes SW, Glencoe probably goes to Area II, Like I said before Class B Area I is not like Class A Area I

Big Pasture is too far west to go to Area IV, I'm calling it if Boswell is in same area as Kinta I can see Boswell pulling the upset over them on Saturday and getting in

Maybe flip Sentinel and Arnett to Area I and send Varnum to Area III (I know people are gonna hate to see Varnum to Area III but they went there one year cause it was same year they upset #1 Duke in Area)

Mountain View is closer to Woodward than Duke. Not saying they will go northwest, but makes just as much sense as Duke doing it.
