Lawton MacArthur (11-1) vs McAlester (12-0) Carl Albert (10-2) vs Collinsville (12-0)
Will hear the locations in a few hours. Both should be around OKC metro area. Two good matchups. My first thoughts are McAlester and CA are the favorites.

This should be a great week for 5A matchups. After watching McAlester for the first time I would say they have a legit shot this year. The Buffs have had better teams come up short though. The key matchup is definitely on the other side of the bracket. History is with CA but I am going w the Cardinals this year. McAlester can score quickly so you have to control the ball. IMO the title is decided at Western Heights on Friday night.

What McA team was better? I have been watching McA football since 2000 and I am curious which team you thought was better.

I have to go back a little further. 1987, 1988, 1993,1994 and maybe the teams with Dalton Wood (yrs?) The 87 team may be the best ever at McAlester and they didn’t make the finals.
Collinsville just doesn't have the jimmy and Joe's to play with CA for 4 quarters. That is what happen the last few years these teams played each other. Neutral site western heights? Guess when your the challenger the champ gets all the advantages

It's not about the so called "jimmys and joe's" I think they do have it in them to end CA's unbeaten streak
McAlester better be ready for a track meet vs Macarthur them boys can get to the edge and turn the corner. More speed than Coweta or Guthrie, they are dangerous. Have to be physical with them.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Carl Albert is 17-0 in semi finals games. I understand that this stats has nothing to do with this year. However, it is a pretty interesting stat.

They have won 16 titles, so that number isn't exactly surprising. Except I don't think they have played in 17 they are 16-0. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. I think I saw where both Macs have been in 19 with Mac winning 6(can't remember if this was 6 or 8) and McA winning 4. Either way McA is 2-2 in the finals and Mac is 1 -5 or 1-7 in finals. Picking the Cardinals to break the 16-0 semi streak this Friday.
