I feel like most of the people on here have had Gore in the top 8 (at least) in their ranking for most of the year. I don't see much disrespect to Gore.
Absolutely. I’ve had Gore in the top 5 since week 3. No one is dismissing them.
Yep. And why should Gore have played them? The admiration of some DA on a message board? It was not early in the season, not a week 1-4 game. It was a meaningless game against a top 5 opponent so late in the season there would have been nothing to gain from it. Win or loss does not matter, the Hulbert game was a district match-up. You have to play that game, but what do you gain by playing Pawhuska so late. What happens if they loss the Craighead kid, or the Dozier Kid? How do you explain that to people, losing kids playing in a meaningless game that was scheduled on the Monday of the week they would have played. I applaud Coach Tyler for his decision. He looked out for what was best for his program and kids. Not an ego maniac that is willing to throw his kids to a meat grinder to feed his ego. Coach has a bigger goal in mind, not a meaningless game against Pawhuska week 8.
This aged like fine milk. You can't help but think if Gore would have played a top 5 team like Pawhuska, they would have been more prepared for Woodland. For 11 straight games Gore played teams that would lay down when the going got tough, they weren't prepared for a team that would actually come back when they are down 13 with a little over two minutes left to go in the game. IMO the Pawhuska game would have been a benefit to the pirates, but hey, what's done is done.

Why do you care? You're a Woodland fan
Everyone knows I hate Woodland and love the dowgs be Jack is right. Just saying 30 years without a Quarters appearance and also Gore made a video after the first round win with all the player yelling WOODLAND! Lol, kind a funny if you ask me. You can find it on their football facebook page. Play the best ta be the best.

"11 straight games Gore played teams that would lay down when the going got tough"? In week 6, Gore was tied with Colcord 14-14 going in at half time. To begin the 3rd quarter, Gore went up 28-14. Colcord rallied back to 26-28 in the third quarter. Colcord was moving the ball with around 7 mins left in the 4th when they fumbled on the exchange qb/rb exchange on around the -45. Colcord had Gore held to 4th and 5 in the redzone when Gore score the final TD on a TE out.
The week before Gore was up on Warner in the 3rd 14-0 and Warner scored to make it a 5 point game. Dont feel like Warner layed down either.
Gore is a very good offensive team, however their defense is somewhat suspect the same as Colcord. Colcord rushed for 460 yards and threw for 264 yards against Gore. Gore ran for 445 and threw for 28 yrds. IMO a defense cannot let an offense run for 450+ yards and expect to win championships. Gore should be very good again next year but they are going to have to improve their defense a bit to take that next step past round 2 or 3.
Gore has pretty much turned into Talhina when Talhina was dominating that district from about 08 to 17. They just dont have those deep playoff runs that Talihina had during that time period yet.
You mean Talihina, every year but like 4, since the late 70s -2017, dominating that district or the 2a one!

Doesn’t Woodland and Pawhuska run completely different offenses? Single wing vs Spread it out and do swing gate middle of the field stuff?
I get needing to play a “full game”, But schedule week 2 non district harder.
