Why is nobody talking about Victory Christian?

Metro got housed 42-7 to Holland Hall.

By your logic VCS should be close to beating Holland. Transitive properties aren’t real in the game of football.

If they VCS played Metro 10 times - VCS wins 8 of them but most likely in a much closer style. It was one of those nights for the Conquerors.

That being said - six turnovers in their loss to Cascia - five inside the red zone.

Rallied to beat Pawhuska. Where the defense held Paw to 21.

Youth on the defense blew a 21-7 halftime lead over a top 5 Verdigris team.

VCS had been battled and were ready for what Metro does. Also caught them on a short week coming off a crushingly close loss where Beggs ran for 270ish yards on them.

Victory is up and coming, healthy and have a big chip on their shoulder.

We will know after week 10. It should be a great game. There’s a great energy around the team. There’s pride in the coaching staff where both coordinators are alums that had a chance taken on them by a coach from out of state.

Ok so let me get this thought process straight-

You’re saying metro lost to holland bad (as they did last year too but still rolled thru 2A) and lost to Beggs by 2 (but only beat them by 1 last year and got lucky they won last year but this year beggs got lucky on metro & escaped with a win) so...

Their championship pedigree and surely competitive coaching staff intentionally threw a game against a rival they must compete for kids with? They were like oh dang guys I don’t know if we are very good since we lost those 2 games, even though it’s basically the same as last year when we win state, so let’s be worried about who we play in the playoffs right now. Let’s go ahead and sit starters for no reason so we intentionally lose this game. Let’s send a very clear message to our own players that even though we are back to back champs we don’t believe in them to compete against good teams in the playoffs anymore so even though a loss puts us on the same side of the bracket still, we need to lose this game against a rival school 2 miles from us so we don’t get embarrassed in the playoffs. Sorry kids, we need to not win this week.

Get real. They got stomped with all their starters in a game they wanted to win.

I hear everything being said here. I still think Beggs will win the game. I’ll never understand the blowout score over Metro. But I can’t believe that Beggs isn’t better than Cascia Hall, WAY better than Pawhuska who took VC to OT, and according to the score alone which could be deceiving are much better than Kiefer who lost in a shootout. Beggs and Metro have become a rival and people play above themselves in those games. Heck, maybe VC is the real deal. Maybe Metro is actually bad. Maybe Beggs is overrated. Week 10 is the tell all. District title game. I bet the atmosphere will be unreal.

I realize this is in good humor - but really though.  If they are as good as this thread would imply, why?  What caused the leap from a 6 win season (with a bonus round) to a Semi-final plus type of team?

I would think winning 4 straight playoff games would qualify under the mustard cutting criteria.

Every year was the year that Vian was suppoed to win or play for it for the last 7 years and they play for it 1 year of all that trash talk. Vian with the talent they have is like Millwood perennial underachievers
