Watched Cushing/Jones/Chisholm.
Chisholm looked a bit weaker than they were last year. Jones' QB is an impressive looking kid that can spin it, and they have some good looking kids up front. Cushing returns most of the backfield one both sides of the ball, minus their running back/leading tackler. Defensively, I think they have a chance to be tougher. Still have a good LB, moved a kid to DE that has a chance to make a difference on the edge. Secondary is the same though. Soft on the corners, with undisciplined safeties. We know what they have in a QB and receivers. Question is going to be how well they move the ball against a defense rushing more than 3, and showing looks other than base. Tough to get a real good good from the scrimmage though, because it was pretty vanilla. I personally wasn't impressed with the way Cushing handled a 3 man front though. Pains me to say that, if they don't do a better job up front, Cushing may have 5 games that look like the semi-final game last year.

Must have something against Cushing buckthetrend. Only two posts you’ve ever made and bashing them.
As far as the scrimmage goes, you must not have watched the same scrimmage I did. Cushing dominated Chisholm and Jones. I don’t put much stock into it because it was a scrimmage, but you’re just spreading lies. I’d say Cushing fared pretty good against the “3 man look.” They scored twice on Jones and 4 times on Chisholm. And guess what? They ran a vanilla offense. Didn’t allow a TD to either squad. And guess what else? Those “soft corners” and “undisciplined safeties” picked off Mr. Power 5 QB twice in 16 plays. Get out here with that BS.
I watched McAlester/Wagoner. The Bulldogs D looked very solid, as both teams have premium Ds both teams run games were stifled. Rodriguez got loose a couple of times and scored once but also threw a pick six and another int. From what I saw I think Wagoner is the team to beat in their district, but not sure if I can pick them over Coweta in two weeks.

I agree with johnsmith you must have some bias with Cushing

Nah, it just sounds harsh. I hope they do well. But, I'm not getting on board with a #1 pick by the Tulsa World. They have good offensive weapons, but they lost the guy that helped them sustain drives, and the O-line. Listening to talk, people think they are going to run away with their district. I think those people are discounting the impact the line has on a game. (If you watched the scrimmage I watched, you'll remember that on the 1st scoring play against Jones, the big kid, right tackle, was holding and ultimately body slammed the kid. Pretty sure that would have resulted in a penalty in a game) I agree though, overall I thought the D looked good. Not convinced the corners are tough. Safeties are athletes, no doubt about it, but I still think they are susceptible. We are going to find out soon though. Bristow, Perkins, Berryhill, then Tuttle. I think that's a tough row to hoe the first 4 games. Planned on watching Jones at Lincoln on the 3rd, but may go watch the Cushing/Bristow game. 4th week, Tuttle. I'll eat crow, and apologize to all of the Cushing fans if they are 4-0. Hell, if they beat Tuttle but drop 1 or 2 going into that game, I may eat crow. Still think Tuttle is the team to beat in that district.

Not in the least. I follow a few teams. I think Cushing is going to win games. I also think they are going to have growing pains up front. Tough to distribute the ball to the receivers, who are play makers for sure, if your QB doesn't have time. Tell me. You think they beat Tuttle? As I said in another post, I think there is a chance they are 2-2 after Tuttle. They may get their fit up front, but I think it will take a few games.

Gotta keep in mind too, McAlester ranked #2 overall in class 5A.
Did you see the Wagoner/Claremore game? Claremore returns most their team that went 6-4 last year and predicted to finish 4th in district. So, hard to say. But they dominated them big time 28-0 in a half game. Claremore had maybe 2-3 good plays. Rest of time they were on their backs in the backfield. Even the underclassmen. 7th, 8th, 9th and JV along with varsity.
