1. Cashion 2. Pawhuska 3. Ringling 4. Hooker 5. Morrison 6. Mooreland 7. Pawnee 8. Tonkawa 9. Thomas 10. Gore
Hooker at #4? They lost a lot. They still have their QB Parker and a pretty good receiver #24 I think. Don’t know what else they have. I know they have a good in coming class in regards to basketball but not sure about football. I imagine they’ll be top 4 in their district but I think Mooreland-Texhoma-Thomas. Fairview will be a sleeper? Is fairview still in this district. I haven’t kept up.
Pawhuska did not look very good at all at the 7 v 7 tournament a few weeks ago at Owasso. Which was shocking because they are basically a pass heavy offense and you would think they would fair better at a tournament like that. Cashion on the other hand looked just as good as where they left off from last season. I would have Minco, Woodland and probably Wayne or Elmore City in there over Hooker and Mooreland. Both of those teams lost a ton of starters.
I think Thomas will take a big step back this year. I think it was Clean Green who is a big Thomas fan said Thomas graduates half there team from last year in another thread.

dtrain Yeah I remember cleangreen saying that Thomas would be in rebuild, I said it once I'll say it again, Pawhuska has got to develop a run game, Their pass game is good but they don't run it a lot, Wayne is a heavy sleeper, I actually think they have a chance to upset Ringling if they play their cards right, My thing with Woodland you never know what offense they'll run, Last year it was run heavy, One year it was a balanced offense between run and pass
No chance wayne could upset Ringling. Ringling will probably shut them out again. Mullens is good but he is literally there entire offense. Watch Wayne every play is just him taking the snap then running around trying to make people miss. Ringling has shut him down now for the past 2 seasons. Last year Wayne only gained 3 1st downs against Ringling the entire game. To beat Ringling you have to have multiple weapons or be able to throw the ball to keep them from loading the box with there big guys. Elmore has the best chance to upset them because they have probably more athletes than any team in the district but there QB play has always been whats held them back for years. Also the last time Ringling lost a district game was in 2016 and it was Elmore who beat them.

I think you forget anyone can be beaten on any given day and thats why we play the game, Don't try to dismiss it either, Coaches and HOF coaches will say the same thing, I like what Wayne has better than Elmore City, Elmore City didn't even utilize Patterson all that well (I seen it clear as day in the Cashion game) If Wayne can get receivers open and the line is blocking like they are supposed to than we shall see what the result is, Dibble is another underrated team in that district

Wayne doesn't throw the ball. They run it 99% of the time. Mullens runs it like 40 times a games. He only had 140 yards total passing for the year last season and the year before that he only had 174 total yards passing for the season.

I've never been a fan of non passing offenses cause certain teams figure you out too quick, I know all about non passing offenses seeing I see it in 8 man way too much (Not a fair comparison but I don't really care cause football is football)

Last non passing offense I seen before Wayne was OCA when I covered their game against Cashion and OCA was literally handing off to the RB almost the entire game, Then Woodland with Nate Lockert at QB taking all the snaps was similar to Wayne, Gore is one team that runs the ball a lot (Especially with the QB) but they also throw the ball a lot in a balanced offense

Wayne has never really ever passed much. They have always been a run heavy team as long as I have been watching them play. Even the year they won state they ran it almost every single play with that big RB they had that year in Josh Way. He ran for almost 3,000 yards that year. Cashion kind of broke the curse of run heavy teams winning the state championship in Class A. The years Ringling, Afton, Thomas, Hollis and even Tonkawa won it. They were all run heavy teams that barely threw the ball. The Championship game in 2009 that Tonkawa won they didn't attempt a single pass in that game and won the Gold Ball.

The game is changing now, Look at Class 2A nearly every team is running the spread or pro style offense, I know there's a Class C 8 man team that runs the pro style offense,
I'm just not big on run heavy offenses, The game is leaning towards passing, Like I said look at Class 2A and above and the Class B and C teams that are starting to switch to either the spread or pro style
2A has a bunch of big schools that use to play in 4A and 3A that have dropped all the way to 2A now. Those aren't traditional class 2A teams. Like Davis, Millwood and Vian who are more run dominant teams but will throw it here and there.

The thing about Woodland is they have a new QB who can throw the ball better and a running back who will actually be doing the running. Woodland will still remain run heavy but there will be more of a balance now between run and pass.

Interesting, Woodland could possibly be a sleeper if they go to that balanced offense between run and pass, Don't get me wrong Lockert was good at QB but I feel like he was more of a RB with his speed and elusiveness
