Just wanted to clear a few things up for those who may not know. Charter Schools receive the same funding as regular public schools. Charter schools are public schools that you have to apply to get in the school. They have higher standards than average public schools. They do NOT charge a tuition like private schools do. Anyone can apply to go to a charter school. They are especially great for kids whose parents don't have the money to send them to a private school but they want their kid to have a quality education that will help them get into college and to be successful in college. They give parents the choice to send their kids to public schools or apply to a charter school. I see it as a win-win for kids and for schools. Do some research before arriving to your own conclusions.

Yup, and they aren’t held to the same requirements that our dumb@$$ legislature has imposed on regular public schools. And they can insure that they don’t get problem students that make learning harder for others. Test scores should be better without these problem students. Getting to take “choice students” makes everything better. All the while taking the best students from their local schools so the DA legislature can tout their virtues.

Epic charter school are NOT the only charter schools in Oklahoma. People really are misinformed about this subject. It seems as if it is mainly a political matter with certain groups against it and certain groups for it. All more political nonsense if you ask me.
