Area I is pretty wide open in all honesty outside of Leedey, Area II the consolation spot will be interesting to see, Area III and IV are definitely loaded
Area I Champion: Leedey' Consolation Champion: Duke Contenders: Forgan, Tyrone
Area II Champion: Red Oak or Butner Consolation Champion: Red Oak or Butner or Glencoe
Area III Champion: Roff Consolation Champion: Earlsboro Contenders: Hammon, Mt. View-Gotebo, Kinta, Big Pasture I do think the consolation will be between Earlsboro an Mt.V-G
Area IV Champion: Varnum Consolation Champion: Battiest or Whitesboro or Cyril (if Cyril can gel they will be dangerous!) Contenders: Saskawa, Buffalo Valley

Homesick your sticking with your 6 east teams make it in and 2 west You may be right but I would take that bet and say its not going to be that lopsided.

Homesick I can tell you really want Earlsboro to make it in, I just can't see it with that region being stacked, I think it's gonna be MVG and Big Pasture playing on Saturday

I'm not saying Earlsboro can't make it through. I just think all together won't be 6 teams from the East. I would think Earlsboro has as good as chance as anyone in that area. I believe like Homesick said they are more athletic than Mountain View but MVG is very disciplined and competitive will be a fun game if they meet.

Well I said Earlsboro can't be stuck in that "me mentality" like years past

HunterSheppard I would love for you to elaborate on their 'me mentality'? Not quite sure what you mean by that and would be curious what years their 'me mentality' kept them out of the state tournament?

That whole "me mentality" thing was something Homesick brought up in the preseason

Them being alma mater I would love for them to make it to state. But I don't look through rose colored glasses, I look at their schedule and how they compete versus good teams. One bad loss against one of the favorites to win gold. It was a hard game to watch, but at the same time the coaches at Varnum are friends of mine.
huntersheppard, I didn't see a me mentality at the Boro last year, and they seemed play well together at Varnum this year. Lat year they were young, maturity needed tended to, more discipline (both usually comes with age), but what I saw as the biggest problem was the parents. New coach, a year older..
texasranfers, I really have not looked at where the schools are located this year. For the past couple/few years class B has done a pretty good job ranking teams. Some teams do get overlooked but for the most part, good job ranking. There could be four or five teams more athletic than Lomega in area II. Big Pasture, Indiahoma, and Mt.V-G are all very capable of upsetting one of the favorites, so does Earlsboro.

Maturity yes.
me mentality, I don't recall saying that about Earlsboro. I may have, I don't remember.

Hunter if those weren’t your words/thoughts I apologize. It is my opinion that Earlsboro was extremely well coached under Russell Parsons and I thought Earlsboro always achieved what they were suppose to or even over achieved under his leadership. They had some turnover last few years, but I know Devin Terry will do and is doing a solid job with those young men. Earlsboro is a state tourney threat now and will be down the line, in my opinion. I also agree in part with Homesick, parents can be an issue but that seems to have settled way down this year under Terry’s leadership.

Buffalo Valley handled Whitesboro rather handily. Don’t know the final but was a 20 point game late in the 4th quarter. Wasn’t real impressed with Whitesboro. They didn’t handle pressure very well at all.
Watched this one. Whitesboro was definitely out coached. Valley was well prepared. Refs called some touchy fouls early that got Whitesboro in trouble. Whitesboro coach runs same plays with boys and girls. Was a bad move to hire him for both teams. Worst thing that could've happened to the boys. They have some talented players but lack coaching. Not sure why a coach wouldn't put the ball in Ward's hand more. Watched him score 36 and dominate in a game this year. He barely touched the ball on offense. Whitesboro needs to wake up. They'll have a tough road to make it now.
