Pirates look to remain unblemished and the Wildcats looks to make a statement. No common opponents between the two. I don’t know much about Cashion and would like to hear from others. Cashion is off a 6 point win over 2A #6 Hennessey and Dale is off a 46 point win over 4A #12 Broken Bow. It should be a good one inside the ship.

Small ball against small ball. Should be interesting. Dale can flat out score and has been destroying their competition lately. Cashion is really sound defensively and I believe has won the last 3 in this series. I think this game will say a lot about 2A boys and whether Dale kind of stands out above the rest of the class or if 2A boys is still as wide open as it was last season.
Just watched the game on Skordle what a game Two really good teams
The nabavi announcer on Skordle makes it really hard to have the sound on during the game bc he is a blooming idiot
But what a game I don’t think cashion beats hooker even with their football guys The nabavi kid and the legasse kid don’t bring much They might have had a combined 4 points together tonight and maybe help out on boards and def but still don’t think they beat hooker with them

So you’re saying Dale was over ranked?
I think Dale and Hooker are #1 and #2. You can interchange them either way. Cashion is probably more like a #3 or #4. Certainly a top 5 team. The Cashion announcer on the livestream repeatedly said “if these aren’t your top 2 teams in 2A then you’re very biased.” He sounded pretty biased since they lost to hooker by like 8. Regardless, Cashion played a good game and upset #1. Dale makes some free throws down the stretch and they win, inexperience got them beat IMO. My guess on the next rankings will be Hooker at #1 and Dale at #2, Cashion probably slides up to #3.
Worst I’ve seen my Pirates play, but props to Cashion for taking advantage. Pirates gotta make it happen late. Play a tough Wewoka team tomorrow. Hope my Pirates can avenge it next weekend at the Cashion Tourney.

Y’all will beat Wewoka by 15+. No offense to Wewoka, very talented team with a lot of pieces, just too undisciplined IMO. Wewoka will have the more athletic team by far, but they’re too out of control to play with a fundamentally sound team like Dale.

Cashion has beat Dale several times in the last couple years. No? Is it a talent? Coaching?

I was at the game tonight. Very enjoyable. I am a neutral, so I will give my opinion. I think on balance, Dale is the slightly better team overall. Cashion may have a higher ceiling though if that makes sense. Cashion is impressive in that you can never count them out and they are extremely "pesky."
If Cashion shoots the ball well, they will probably win state. However, I think that they do struggle a little bit against physical teams or could have a lot of problems if someone has an athletic post player that could also matchup defensively with one of Cashion's players. Also, if the refs are letting them play, then that is a disadvantage for Cashion. A tightly called game works well for them. They constantly try to draw charges or "embellish" plays, and are a very good FT shooting team.

2A seems to be pretty wide open again. Dale and Cashion are obviously in the mix. But do not forget about teams like Pawnee, Hooker, Hennessey, and Minco. As for Dale and Cashion, I think they both played like potential state champs on the offensive end for periods of the game. But I think what makes both teams a cut above is their defense and their adaptability on the that end. I thought both teams showed a state champion level of defense for most of the game. Especially, for what they were trying to defend. Although both teams are somewhat small they do a good job of overcoming that defensively and then using their speed and skill to exploit people on the offensive end. Bottom line is that class 2A is tough for anyone to handicap at this point. Should be a fun finish.

If you want to see defense, I think you should view what Minco did to Hooker and Crossings Christian. I have been following them when I can find a game stream one place or another since seeing them at the Festival of Champions at Jenks before the New Year, where they pressed my Trojans and should/could have beat us! Imagine a 2A school pressing a 6A squad, with at least 1 D1 guard. The Birchfield (sp) kid is a special athlete. Anyway, caused me to follow em,and after finding & watching that tournament final game against Hooker on Hooker Bulldogs Tv or whatever, wow. They can play with anyone on the defensive side of the ball. Height seems to not matter much to them. Been a casual observer of these 2A threads since seeing them, and just figured they be getting more love since they played all these large schools. dangerous.
I'll check out these others more. I did stream the Cashion v Dale game, and the description of Cashion as 'pesky' is fitting. Dale's freshman gonna be really nice player too.

I'll be shocked if Wewoka stays within 20. Even when Wewoka was legit they always lost at Dale. Plus it just seems the Wewoka kids don't care enough just from their demeanor. If they play to their potential they can beat anyone. If not they can lose to school of the blind.
Wewoka had a couple of kids (one who would have started and one in the rotation) who just didn't come out after playing every other year lol. I don't understand kids these days.
Pirates shot it like I expect them too. Beat Wewoka 106-74. Good Bounce back. Wish we could’ve came out last night with that intensity. Always curious to see how teams respond after big wins/loses. Cashion beats Wellston in OT 57-52. Wewoka will be a problem for most teams. Good Luck to them the rest of the way.

How in the world do you not play with intensity against a top 5 team. Seems like excuses to me
