If anyone didn't have Lomega as the favorite they don't do this with unbias eyes or thought... If we were to just try to predict the winner, this would be no fun. There is a whole class trying to make it to state along side Lomega, and that debate is fun.
I finally got the nerve to go to a ballgame and saw Varnum play McLain today.
Coach Hadley sub the starters halfway through the first quarter. I think he had them start second, and after the four minute mark he started subbing and that was the last time they played together. the score at half was 37-3 and the final score was 67-30. Varnum is impressive. I'm sure coach Hadley believes they have a lot of room for improvement. But they have size, they are quick, play very well together, play good offense and their defense is very good. They will be a tough out for any team they meet in the playoffs. I think they started 2 seniors, 1 sophomore, and 2 freshmen.

I haven't seen Varnum lately, Did they get Kinsey back or no, I do agree about your statement on Lomega

Homesick I think they'll still make it to state but I feel like they are a different team without her, I don't think we're talking about Leedey enough cause I'm hearing Leedey is looking like a serious contender right now
Varnum is certainly a different team without her, she will be missed but they are 8ish deep (unless covid kept some away), they can hit beyond the three, have several bigs, their defense was very good, so I think if they trend upward they should be one of the 8. As for Leedey, I'm pretty sure they return most of the state tournament team form last year, them being ranked #2 is giving them due props. My questions are for teams that are ranked 12-25 that area not receiving any attention here. Hardesty/Yarbrough is 7-0?? Fox is 7-2?? Cimarron is 6-1? Who are these teams? Are they legit? Anyone know anything about these or other teams that are not ranked or in the bottom half of the rankings, we need scouting reports!!!!

Homesick I don't know anything on Hardesty/Yarbrough, Hard for me to get a read on them cause one I don't know anyone in the panhandle and two how good are some of those Texas teams they play? The conference Cimarron is in has been known to be pretty good before but I haven't seen anything on them either, If Varnum doesn't have Kinsey then I have to take Leedey just cause their the next team I know of with the highest chance to reach the finals
MUCH appreciated Gus!!!! If you can, will you post some scouting on them? I'd like to know if they are a threat to break the top ten or twenty.... I really don't care if they are scheduling wizards, they still have to play the game and I'd like to know more about them than how good they are at scheduling weak opponents. Apparently none of them are in a conference, because if they are, two thirds of their schedule is predetermined. But you are most likely right about all of them? Maybe not all of them. Anyway, I bet not just me wants to know more about them.

Here's my breakdown of Hardesty-Yarbrough:
They finished 22-7 last year, and if you would have watched them play and not known their record, you would have said they looked like a team that should go about 5-20 and maybe get a win on Friday night of districts with a favorable matchup.
They play a bunch of terrible Texas Panhandle and Southwest Kansas schools and then play a home-and-home series with all the worst teams in Northwest Oklahoma.

I'll admit that I started the season with high hopes for Paden they were one game aways from state last year and returned a lot. After watching them play last night I was very disappointed they might of been missing players but they lost to an average Mason team at home by double digits. A team Varnum beat by 32. With what I saw they are nowhere near a top 20 team and won't make it far this year.
