I'm confused, is he calling Wewoka a one timer? I have a feeling wildcat is probably in 7th or 8th grade.
I think he is but like you I'm confused myself
He also said Pawhuska isn't elite and niether is their QB. I guess a kid that has thrown for over 3,000 yards in high school is not elite. He was on pace to break mason Fines All time Season passing record before all these games got canceled.
The Pawhuska QB is a great QB but he isn’t elite. Elite would be a power 5 recruit. He has great stats, but half of them come from when they’re up by 40 and he’s still throwing the ball against really bad teams. Hennessy did the same thing at Locust Grove
Everyone be picking against Cashion, People picked Elmore City to pull the upset when even I knew that Cashion defense would shut them down
I don’t think anyone picked Elmore to beat Cashion. I think Cashion has a real test this week as Hooker can match up well with them athletically. There is reason to think it will be a close game.
Hooker has some big WR’s that are 6’3” 200+ that can all run. Their QB is 6’4” than has an absolute rocket for an arm. He does hold on the ball too much and there are times he should run but doesn’t. He also likes to force throws. Hookers line is undersized but they are athletes. Reminds of the line Thomas had in the early 2000s...little but fast.
I also think Cashion play’s undisciplined at times. Almost like their trying to be tough or intimidating (I know that’s not it but at first glance that’s what it seems like). It also appears Cashion doesn’t respect their opponents (I mean why should they, no one has played them close) and sooner or later it’s gonna sneak up on them,
This game reminds me of the 2017 playoff game Hooker played against Ringling. Hooker won 23-6 and no one expected them to win. Ringling couldn’t match up with Hookers WRs and Hookers speed on defense was better than Ringlings smash mouth style.
I’m not saying Hooker will win. What I am saying is that Hooker does have a team that can match up with Cashion’s athletes. I do think it is forgotten that Hooker has been State Champion or runner up in track (State Champs in 2015, 2016 and runner up in 2018, 2019) not too mention they have been one of the better teams in 2A boys basketball. In fact last year they beat Pawhuska in the Area tournament and were scheduled to play Cashion in the Quarterfinals in the State Tourney before covid hit.
Cashion, Pawhuska, Wewoka are not the only team that has athletes.
@oldblue760 That was my knock on Hooker, The QB has a Peyton Manning type arm but he holds it too much and tries to run when he shouldn't
I really think he has a ton of potential. One key player for Hooker that goes unnoticed is the Hill kid from Hooker. Tremendous ball skills. Maybe #24 I think.
#9 from Cashion appears to be their stud on defense. Big strong athletic kid. This game truly will have a ton of athletes out on the field.
Given the fact that Cashion beat Thomas 28-7 and Thomas best Hooker 17-14, I’m guessing Cashion wins 42-21. For me, it’s the number of athletes that will be on the field which is what makes this game an exciting matchup. Feels more like a Quarterfinal game than a 2nd round game and it sucks that these two teams are facing each other so early because I know both these teams are far better than some of the other teams that will advance into the Quarterfinals.

I’ve learned you can’t compare scores or previous games. Example: Vian loses to Cascia Hall. Vian beats Keys by 70. Keys goes and bears Cascia Hall. Probably the most shocking upset of the season IMO. Anything can happen.

Comparing yes but it was a common opponent. Teams improve. Injuries happen. Like I stated before, the amount of athletes on the field will be fun to watch.

He is elite for Class A football. Him and Matt Harmon are the only 2 QB's to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season twice in the history of Class A football.
Cashions QB from a couple years ago. His little brother is Cashions current starting QB. Matt threw for over 11,000 yards and 140 TD during his high school career at Cashion.

no one picked elmore to win. We just said we thought it would be an interesting game to see with elmore having all their players back for the first time all season.
You realize they had all of their starters vs Wayne, right? I’ve seen you say this multiple times.

I never said they didnt have all their starters. I said they had limited players and they didnt practice at all for the wayne game because they all had been in Quarentine. Their coach even said that. Heres the Quote "The Badgers lost a nail biter last night vs. Wayne in district play. Despite being off for 17 days without practice, and 21 days without playing, the boys fought through injury, some questionable calls, and a very good opponent to keep coming from behind to.match Wayne blow for blow. We came up 1 yard short and these kids will never forget that. We will bounce back vs. Rush Springs next week. I am proud to coach these boys and we will be back"
When I was watching the stream, I couldn't ever figure out which one was the transfer from Wynnewood unless I over looked the play
he was #7 I think they only gave him the ball like 1 or 2 times the entire game. Him and number 16 are their best athletes but they hardly gave either one of them the ball during the whole game.
