Class B (Girls)
1. Lomega (Defending state champions, Brought back everyone including probably the most dynamic duo in Class B, Gained a good freshman as well) 2. Whitesboro (Only lost one senior but they bring back everyone else, I think this team could contend for a title, From what I've seen they play well together) 3. Varnum (Brought back most everyone, I just don't know what the PG will look like coming off that injury in the title game) 4. Cyril (Brought back everyone, Took a loaded Canute team down to the wire in Class A last year, They are definitely top 5 in B) 5. Hammon (Young team last year, Didn't lose anyone, Took McCurtain and Lomega down to the wire last year in playoffs, Also plays a good conference schedule) 6. Duke (New coach, Returns all but like 1 or 2, Could make it back to state this year) 7. Leedey (Didn't lose much, Likely will run it back) 8. Lookeba-Sickles (Lost the SG but returns everything else, New coach but could run it back) 9. McCurtain (Lost all state post but gained a move in PG from Kinta, Returns everyone else, Will likely run it back) 10. Paden (Lost best player but returned everyone else)
Darkhorses Webbers Falls: Lost one senior but returned all other starters including good PG, Gained a really good freshman that can shoot Welch: Brought back everyone, A lot of height and depth, Good all around, By height I mean smallest is 5"8 Beaver: Was always competitive in Class A should be in Class B as well Red Oak: Not sure what they have but like bigdog says we always hear they will be good Kiowa: Lost 6 seniors but they brought back the PG, Maybe a wait and see team but we will see quickly as they play a pretty good schedule
I don't disagree much with this other than Cyril did lose one of their best players from last years team. I'm also not sold on Duke being that high either honestly, I think LS is probably better than they are.

jackfrost I was told by one of my Caddo County guys that Cyril was primarily sophomores and juniors last year, I've heard Duke still has some pieces, I imagine Dawson can make a run with what he has like he did at Canute, Only reason I have LS at #8 is cause I know very little on them other than they have a new coach, as for my top 3 I think its maybe accurate, I guess maybe I would swap Duke and LS but we will seen when the season starts

McCurtain should be higher but only reason I have them at #9 is cause one of my sources I talked to said something about some of those girls had team chemistry issues during softball season and he thinks it could carry over, I've said on my podcast they bring back all but one post who was an allstater but they could run it back with what they bring back along with a PG that transferred in from Kinta

Cyril lost one starter but the core of the team were sophomores . They have a really good junior high group coming up. Lookeba will be better this year than last. Great job on the picks though
I wasn’t trying to take anything away from Cyril because they are going to be very athletic and be able to shoot it that’s for sure. The game between them and LS before Christmas break should be a fun one to go watch.

Don't forget about Pittsburg. They bring several key players back. Along with the Graham twins who made a big impact as freshman last season. Remember, they took Whitesboro to the wire in the Area Championship game last year. I think they start off the season playing Kiowa and Varnum right of the bat. So it will be interesting to see how those games turn out.
Speaking of Kiowa, they are a top 8 team in Class B I believe. They bring back their two bigs, one of them being Kye Stone. Who is a tremendous athlete. Their leading scorer and picked All-Area MVP. And the Hackler girl who is a good shooter. They did graduate two starters. They do not bring back their PG. She graduated.
Guys, we are just a few weeks away from getting back into it!

okiebb Kiowa lost 6 seniors though and you're not the only one that says they'll figure in the top 8, bigdog says the same thing, Pittsburg is good but I need to see what they look like first, Also I kept thinking Kye Stone was the PG, I guess I must have got my notes from last year mixed up

All I know is there could be someone make an upset or two, Also whenever Kiowa and Crowder play which is usually early on in the season, that will be a good one to evaluate
Kye Stone is a great basketball player, but she is NOT a PG She's about 5'10 and plays at the 3 or 4 position. And has been Kiowa's leading scorer for past 3 years. Crowder does play them early. Nov 10th actually. And according to the online schedule, looks like Pittsburg and Kiowa have each other as a season opener. And I know, it's easy to get your notes mixed up. I do good to keep up with just those teams in the Pitt 8!

okiebb you have been my go to person on the Pitt 8 and I know you more than me cause Canadian is about the only one i get to watch, I might have to go watch that Crowder-Kiowa game if I can, I guess we will see how that opener goes, Kye Stone kinda reminds me of #33 from Crowder, both are about 5"10 and can score from about anywhere
