AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flood Watch for flash flooding...flooding of creeks and
rivers...and flooding of low lying areas for portions of
Oklahoma and northern Texas, including the following areas, in
Oklahoma, Atoka, Beckham, Blaine, Bryan, Caddo, Canadian,
Carter, Cleveland, Coal, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Dewey,
Garvin, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Hughes, Jackson, Jefferson,
Johnston, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, Love, Marshall,
McClain, Murray, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie,
Roger Mills, Seminole, Stephens, Tillman, and Wa****a. In
northern Texas, Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Knox,
Wichita, and Wilbarger.

* From Friday morning through early Saturday afternoon

* Rainfall totals of 3 to 7 inches are expected to occur with
widespread showers and thunderstorms.

MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of CENTRAL ARKANSAS, NORTH
CENTRAL ARKANSAS, and WESTERN ARKANSAS, including the
following areas, in CENTRAL ARKANSAS, Conway, Faulkner,
Garland, Lonoke, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, White, and
Yell. In NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS, Baxter, Boone, Cleburne,
Fulton, Independence, Izard, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sharp,
Stone, and Van Buren. In WESTERN ARKANSAS, Johnson, Logan,
Montgomery, Polk, and Scott.

* From Friday evening through Sunday morning

* Heavy rainfall is expected to develop from northwest to central
Arkansas Friday night through Sunday morning. Storm total
rainfall amounts are expected to climb into the 4 to 6 inch
range which will allow for flash flooding across parts of
northern and central Arkansas.

* Low-lying and urban areas will be the first to flood. If you
have plans to camp across Arkansas this weekend, do not camp in
low-lying areas or near dry creek beds, and make sure you have a
way to receive weather warnings. Flash flooding will be likely
in the terrain of the Ouachita and Ozark Mountain areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

SATURDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of west central Texas,
including the following areas, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman,
Concho, Fisher, Haskell, Irion, Jones, Nolan, Runnels,
Shackelford, Sterling, Taylor, Throckmorton, and Tom Green.

* From Friday morning through Sunrise Saturday morning

* Scattered showers and thunderstorms tonight will become more
widespread across the area for Friday and Friday Night. Rainfall
totals of two to three inches will be common, with higher totals
in excess of 4 inches likely in a few locations. This heavier
rain will fall on saturated soils from recent rainfall and
increase the potential for flash flooding.

* Heavy rainfall will lead to rapid runoff that may result in
flooding of low water crossings and city streets. Creeks and
streams will fill with swiftly flowing water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

FRIDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of northwest Texas and the Panhandle
of Texas, including the following areas, in northwest Texas,
Childress, Cottle, Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Kent,
King, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, and Stonewall. In the Panhandle
of Texas, Briscoe, Hall, and Swisher.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Friday evening

* Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with locally heavier amounts
are expected over the region. Flooding may develop with storms
that have intense rainfall rates and also with training cells.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in poor drainage areas should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Some locations could see 2-4 inches of snow tonight into Monday afternoon, with some localized amounts exceeding 4 inches possible, especially in northwest OK. The snowfall amounts and location of heaviest snow may change.

A snowy Sunday night and Monday morning are ahead. While the location of the highest amounts is a bit uncertain, most of us should see at least a little snow with moderate to heavy snow most likely to be located in the southwest and south central Texas Panhandle. While most accumulation will occur before sunrise Monday, the Monday morning commute will likely be hazardous with blowing snow and slick conditions. Stay weather aware!

A rain and snow mix will transition to all snow tonight. The snow will continue through the Monday morning commute and into the afternoon. By the Monday afternoon, the snow will begin to end from west to east with Southeast Kansas not likely to see the end of the snow until Monday evening.

A winter storm will produce a few to several inches of snow along and east of the northern and central mountains through Monday. The heaviest snow on the eastern plains will occur this evening along the I-40 corridor. Snow will taper off at lower elevations by mid day Monday, but it will linger through the afternoon in the northern mountains.
