Pokes: I sincerely hope that Quinton re-enters the ranks of class A football within the (relatively) near future. As you know, I have attended, over the last several years, more than just a few Quinton football games. In that time I have never thought much of their coaching staff, but have also always considered their kids (as such) perfectly capable of competing with the 'big boys' in class A *if* and only if, they were better coached. They most certainly have always had the numbers, since I've been watching them play, at least.
... The Savages cannot play in a district among the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association for the next two years as all of the districts have been aligned, according to OSSAA Executive Director David Jackson.
This means Quinton will most likely play as an independent team and would not be eligible to play in a district or the playoffs under OSSAA in 2018 and 2019. But Quinton could become eligible to play in a district and in the playoffs by 2020 ...

Yeah, my recollection is that that was the general consensus view back when the issue was first raised mid-season last year over at Coaches Aid in the class A threads.
Given that the powers-that-be at Quinton made the decision to drop to 8-man *after* the districts had already been determined by OSSAA, Quinton would also forfeit certain OSSAA membership priveleges inasmuch as they would be permitted to participate in OSSAA sanctioned events, including district championships, admission to post-season play and so on.
Hopefully it will all work out for Quinton in the long run in any case. I'm not exactly 'hip' on the whole idea of a school sporting, as Quinton does, an ADM of around 170 competing in a league where the average ADM is 100-110, but that's just me. I wish them the best in any case.
