Did the Southern Oklahoma, North Central Texas All-Star Rebels win again this season?
Shawnee all-stars beat them by a run. At least the class A fall tournament was competitive. Not sure why there are two classes in fall baseball. There was only one good team in class B.

Oh wow that is a ridiculous statement.
So first you two are both saying that the two teams that were in the championship of class A are both all star teams and insinuating that they recruit, but then you go on to say that the entire B class other than one team isn’t any good. So it should all be one class even though the top of class A is all all stars from the regions, according to you guys. Not that they didn’t develop any of these kids, they’re all recruited, according to you two. You do realize these are kids and high school teams right? And these coaches work hours on end to make them better?
By the way Sports dude, top 8 in class B is a lot better than you think.

Red Oak was definitely playing the best baseball this past weekend, but it doesn’t mean the other teams weren’t very good. If Asher would have won their first round game Red Oak may have never seen the championship having to run into Trevor Martin, who sits low 90s, in the semis. Vici spent their best arm to beat Asher and they tried to win with their number two. Don’t know if you saw the Sickles vs Varnum game but it was a very good game with two good arms against each other. Red Oak beat Leedey 6-3. Not exactly a blow out.
6 of the top 10 in class A in fall were 2A and above including 4A Byng. These teams are also at the top of 2A and Byng will be a top 10 team in 4A. And in my opinion other than 6A, 2A is the toughest baseball class there is. Of course they're going to beat up on some class B teams, if they don't there is a problem. All Class B teams have less than 90 students to choose from in their entire high school. Cut that the gender in half (Some may be more, some may be less) you have less than 45 boys to choose from in the entire school. All I'm saying is, you go take a Class B coaching job and try to take them to the state tournament and then we'll see how "bad" class B is. Oh and by the way Abe, Canute will be and should be a top 5 team in A in the spring.

ross212 there’s always someone that is complaining about how bad sports is in smaller class. It’s usually the people that can’t get to state in there on class.last 2 years we play fast pitch with 9 girls and beat several teams that was in class A and 2a state tournaments. Beat a bunch of schools last spring in slow pitch that was in class 2a to 6a with 10 girls. Most of those teams had 5/10 girls sitting on the bench. Yes sometimes small schools can compete with bigger classes but there is classification for a reason. To say a whole state tournament is awful is pretty disrespectful. I know it’s a public forum and everyone has a opinion but it’s pretty silly statement to make when some of them kids get on here and look at this post.

This is sorta off topic. But there are way too many schools in this state. Oklahoma doesn’t have the population to require 500+ school districts. Not trying to start a consolidation debate, just my opinion.

The reason why there are so many schools is because there are so many rural areas in Oklahoma. Less schools isn’t the answer and you don’t spend any less money having larger school districts and more packed school buildings and having longer (2 hour) bus routes and more busses to add on to it, that need serviced and probably don’t need to be on the road at all.

And to piggyback off the enrollment issue, baseball is the only sport in which classification has the least impact. Meaning small school baseball can compete any day with the 6A schools. In basketball, not happening, in football...zero chance. The classification drop from 2A to A isn't near a problem in the Fall. The biggest issue is how talented and well coached Silo and Dale are.
Completely disagree. Your not changing my mind and I'm not changing yours. So I'm done conversing over this matter with you.

I'm getting in this battle too late but...... Class B top 8 were pretty good, not near as good as A's top 8. Dale was 5-0 against B's top 8, beat RO twice (Fazekas once) and Asher twice, Martin both times. One Fazekas game and one Martin game was a one run game that could have gone either way. Both those kids are awesome.. IMO Fall 2020, Red Oak will be one of the best teams in both classes, and probably for the next couple of years.
This Spring 2A will be a joke! Traveling 2-3 hours every Monday and Tuesday to clobber teams will be bad for both schools. And kids will miss a lot of classroom time as well.. Just a totally bad decision from larger football schools that wanted this rule. I'm sure this will spark a few comments.. lol
Plummer Man - ha ha... Yeah, I might me a little too kind. I hate to talk about teams I didn't see, and the only B teams that I actually saw on the field was RO, Asher and Varnum. Is basketball season over yet? lol
So, you're bad because you don't stack up against Dale, Silo, Roff, and Ft. Cobb this fall??? That's a bit of an overstatement. Of the 400 Class B thru 6A teams, those are likely to be 4 of the top 30 teams in all of OK H.S. baseball this spring. I would say that 6 of those Class B teams will be among the top 100 best this spring.
I would say that OSU baseball is bad, if I were comparing them to the Yankees!
Jumping in this conversation late. Red Oak is the team to beat in 2020 fall for sure. However, don't count out teams like Vici and Varnum. The CF from Vici can straight up play. Varnums senior class will be loaded next year.
That's my point Plummer Man. Watch how those other teams do outside their class against teams not named Roff, Silo, Dale, and Ft. Cobb. I watched them all multiple times in the fall. I think they will show up very well this spring. They always have.
Looking at the fall schedules, it looks like Vici and Leedey played very well against Byng, Roff, and FCB. Varnum had 1-run losses against Roff and Byng twice. I watched Asher play in the finals at the Roff Tournament this fall. Had Roff down 8-7 after 5, then their #3 pitcher ran out of gas. Looks like they swept Latta and won 2 of 3 from Byng.

I'm not arguing. Simply making the point that it all depends on what your standard of judgment is. If that measure is ALL of Oklahoma HIGH SCHOOL baseball, then it is not accurate to say those teams are bad or not very good. In all of OK, those teams are in the top 75%.
