One more round closer to the gold ball ceremony, here are the predictions for the state quarterfinals. View the updated class 2A playoff bracket.

Round 2: 7-1 (.875)

Overall: 314-97 (.764)

Note: Playoff seeds were used not rankings. All games on Friday (November 23rd) and will kickoff at 7:30 PM unless noted.

#1 Eufaula (10-2) @ #2 Sperry (11-1)

Eufaula will be playing on Thanksgiving weekend for the first time since 2005. Sperry has been rolling this season with their only trip-up coming to Beggs. The home team will get the advantage in this one.

Pick: Sperry 34, Eufaula 21

#1 Adair (11-1) @ #2 Vian (10-2) (7:00 PM)

Vian ended Millwood’s 39 game winning streak in round 2, now the Wolverines turn their attention to Adair. Adair has been one of the top programs in class 2A for several years, winning the gold ball back in 2015.

Pick: Vian 35, Adair 28

#2 Washington (10-2) @ #2 Metro Christian (11-1)

Metro Christian outlasted Jones in an offensive battle in round 2. Washington went on the road and knocked off Holland Hall. Washington the 2A runner-up last season will look to win the gold ball now that Millwood has been eliminated.

Pick: Metro Christian 35, Washington 31

#1 Kingston (11-1) @ #1 Beggs (11-1)

The only quarterfinal matchup with two district winners, Kingston out of 2A-8 and Beggs out of 2A-3, should be a good game. Once again the home team will get the edge.

Vian will beat Adair as bad as they want. Adair defense gives up way to many points. Their offense has yet to see a defense like vian. Vian 49 Adair 7.

I think the Vian / Adair game is going to be a battle. Adair is definitely a contender for the gold ball. But the Wolverines are hungry for that championship. They played a great game against Millwood. If they play with the same intensity against Adair as they did last week Vian will be tough to beat at home. I don’t see a blowout in store. It’s gonna be tough one for both teams I give Vian the edge at home

Not true Salina game was close beginning of 4th quarter...Adair is good and can beat Vian but don’t embellish on what they have done this year, it discredits everyone they play and sounds ridiculous. I have a lot of respect for Adair but this is a false statement and sounds very smug. Not even close to being true

At this point in the play offs we have all earned the right to be here. It's not a fluke. We are deep in every position. Or coach makes sure a kid can step in any where and execute the play called. Your #2 was a beast and our little sophomore, who weighed probably 50 lbs less and 6 inches shorter contained him most of the time. Stay healthy and stay hungry. See you next year.

You are exactly right, thats why we play the game on any given night any team left can beat the other, turnovers, injuries etc. all play a big part this late in the year. Good Luck to the Warriors this week.

Vian threw the ball up on a prayer before halftime. The rest of the deep balls toward the end of the game was on a prayer. Vian does this all the time run it all game if your getting beat late in the game pass it. You can’t run the ball all season then expect to start passing in a late third round game wishing on a prayer. Even when they would roll the qb out he would run he did score off of the play once but they ran it four or five times in a row. Congratulations to Adair. Vian has to open up the play book and pass more during the season don’t be scared.
