I have the exact same picks minus Berryhill. I think Berryhill gets picked off in the second round, but not the first. I think Seminole is too one sided and it is very hard to run against Berryhill. I think it will be a very good game and could tip the Seminole way, but only if the Oline can create some holes for the RB or their passing game shows up.

Maybe I am way off, but I believe 3a-4 is better than people think. Locust Grove dominated a very good Adair team in non-district play, and Cascia Hall beat a very good Holland Hall team. Maybe I'm wrong but I think 3a-3 is in for much tougher games than some think.

yes I can see Berryhill winning as well they seem to play good defense. Then again you don't see many Top 10 8-2 4 seeds in the 1st round. Seminole I think will be their toughest challenge to date this year.

yeah and you never know come playoff time. Yeah I was going to pick Locust over Stigler, but idk playoff experience may come down to that one. Locust hasn't been in the playoffs in a few years and Stigler has. Heck Casica Hall will probably give Idabel all it wants. Plus it will be cold n wet field by Friday. Idabel has always struggled in playing on a wet field. So yeah who knows come this time of year.
Locust Grove was Berryhill's toughest game and very easily could've won it. Berryhill is very young and have gotten better as the year has progressed. Locust G started out on fire but then slowed down to play several close games that in my opinion shouldn't have been.
I am very curious as to how good 3A-3 district really is. I want to think they are maybe the second if not first toughest division, but the whole Idabel thing messes with me. They are the second seed, but yet lose one in OT and win one in OT to Roland who was a 7 loss team. Roland lost to Muldrow (2-8) and the Muldrow/Ft.Gibson game was a one point game. Berryhill dominated Ft. Gibson when they weren't playing their best. 3A-3 could be the real deal.
555okiedokie could very well be right, but so could Tushka. I personally think that 3a-4 is a little down this year and that there very well could be some upsets early. This first week will tell A LOT!
Good luck to all these young men, may they play well and I pray that all stays healthy!
Yes, Idabel is a young team as well. They are very Junior-sophomore heavy. In fact, I think they may have over achieved this year. Beginning of the year, I'm thinking this will be a rebuilding year with a new head coach in as well. Those juniors and sophomores are very talented, but I think the youth maybe contributing to the inconsistent performances especially these last 2-3 weeks. Also, I mentioned the conditions of rain and drenched fields. Idabel has always struggled with playing in the rain or wet muddy fields. That goes all the way back to 1984 championship game with Clinton. The inability to use their quickness and speed in those conditions always hurts them. The OT games with Checotah and Roland the fields were you guessed it, wet muddy fields. Plus, Roland always plays us tough up there. I think Roland got better through out the year and had they been in 3A-2 or 3A-4 they probably make the playoffs as a 4 seed. But hey it's playoff time, everybody is 0-0 and every team feels they can go on a run to the title. Good luck to all teams.
Not to take anything away from stigler since I know nothing about them but I'm gonna say this again......LG success will depend on their QB play. LG defense has played pretty solid, 1 RB is very quick and shifty while the other is a solid try to run you over kid. Receivers have good hands WHEN the ball is catchable. Depending how fast the stigler team is the LG quick and shifty RB has had pretty good success on the fast LG field. Someone filled in on stigler.

well Stigler always plays hard and tough. They have decent athletes, but not really as a whole. I know when we play them, Idabel always has the athletic speed advantage. Their QB makes them go, you control him, you got a good chance to beat them. They have 2 impressive wins on the road at Checotah and Seminole. They've been to the playoffs these last 3-4 years so they won't be rattled by the playoff atmosphere. Good luck to Locust Grove this friday night.

Good call on the picks mrtushka! I think its clear now that at the end of the year Berryhill was head and shoulders above the rest of 3A-4. I watched the Berryhill/ Seminole game and it really wasn't even close. The score could have been worse as Berryhill was inside the 10 a time or two and didn't score due to penalties. The RB from seminole had 1 long run in the 1st quarter but was shut down the rest of the night. It was 33-7 with 2 minutes left when Seminole scored on a pass play when Berryhill had some reserves on the field. I thought it would be much more even physically but Berryhill dominated up front all night.

thanks!! Yeah Seminole didn't have a good passing game all year long. Shut Gunville and the running game down, and you win. As for the rest of 3A-4, Stigler QB had a pretty good game against Locust G seemed like. He makes them go. Kind of like Gunville, you shut him down you beat Stigler. Lincoln did what Lincoln did all season, win big. Our game with Cascia, Idabel just had too many athletes for the Commandos. You could tell big time, the speed advantage was in heavy favor of the Warriors. Good luck to Berryhill with mighty Kingfisher coming to town, while the Warriors got a date with the Sulphur Bulldogs.

Can someone tell me. As a Berryhill Chief fan, I look at all of the stats all through the week of an opposing team. I knew about the RB that Seminole has and had to be shut down. And I did this through out the year. Actually do this every year. There are always something that sticks out. Maybe a good QB that puts up big numbers. Running QB that is a duel threat. A RB that posted 2,000 yards like Seminole. I have looked at Kingfishers numbers. Nothing sticks out. Passing yards are about average, 1,912 yards on the year. TD's to Int's are great 29-2. RB's don't have a 1,000 yard rusher. Most yards for an individual is 428. For the team is 1436. But what Kingfisher has is lots of points. They must play well as a team. The numbers I got are from Maxpreps. Berryhill has a great def. They do play well as a team. Any thought? I will also put this on the quarter finals prediction post.

I don't know much about them, but I know they are a very good football team. Their QB is pretty good in both football and basketball. I believe his brother is the breakout star TE at Texas A&M.

I heard the same thing from an insider at Cascia, that Idabels players were just more talented and tougher. When asked about how Idabel compares to Berryhill (only other 3a-4 team still in) they thought that Idabel was more athletic, but Berryhill may have a better defensive line. That would be an interesting game to watch as well. Tushka, is Idabel balanced on offense?

Definitely, Idabel had too much speed for Cascia. Had 2 Tds called back or else it would've been 47-0. They are more balanced now, earlier in the year was more of a rushing attack. Last game was very balanced threw for about 250 yards n ran for over 200 with QB n RB combined. That'll be cool not sure if both schools have ever met on the gridiron. But both Idabel n Berryhill got really tough games this week. We'll see what happens, good luck to you guys!!
