We (Cushing) beat Skiatook 75-0 last night with some backups playing with the starters the first half. Qb2 and QB3 then led scoring drives during the wind half. I am wondering how everyone thinks brackets are going to shake up? Quick old schoolish KUSH Radio level Sean style game breakdown for you all:
Bristow - W - 63-20 - the starting defense did one thing it needed to do early, established it is a different animal this year. The offense did its thing.
Perkins-Tryon - W - 43-27 - the game wasn't as close you would expect by looking af the score. The defensive guys were having an off night and Perkins, combined with penalties kept the Demons uncomfortably close the entire night.
Berryhill - W - 54-3 - the starting D gave up a field goal and that was it. You could tell the offense was different from 2020 and 2021, a lot more confident. The offensive line and Blaize's mobility along with the threat of Jones taking it or catching a quick pass makes it absolutely a nightmare to guard those two, then you have that awesome receiving group to worry about. Crooks will hurt you on special teams just as easy as he can catching the ball. The blocking establishment has been nearly perfect. No getting ahead of ourselves.
Miami - W - 54-13 - these guys made it a fight for second.
Catoosa - W - 63-7 - this one was almost over before it began. Absolutely brutal to watch if you were a Catoosa fan. Nothing worked and Cushing actually took the foot off the gas earlier than usual.
Wagoner - W - 42-0 - people seem to ignore this game around the state. Wagoner is absolutely a heck of team team this year, but unlike in 2020 the roles are now reversed. Met many Wagoner fans who were super polite and not taunting players like some do.
McLain - W - 63-8 - again the same basic thing where the offense puts it away within the first quarter, gets reps the 2nd, and outside defensive starters pitch the shutout until backups give 8 pts. We had invited these guys to come watch the Wagoner game after the tragedy they went through and the unfair backlash against the program.
Cleveland - W - 70-7 - Another quick clock after the half. Tigers played this one on Cleveland's natural field and didn't miss a step.
Oologah - W - 70-21 - we had to leave early, but the first half was an absolute beat down in about every way it could have been.
Skiatook - W - 75-0 - a perfect way to go unbeaten during the regular season for the first time since 1996.
