The private-school debate is headed to the State Capitol.
State Sen. Ron Sharp, R-Shawnee, has called for an interim study regarding classification reform with Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association members at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13.
Sharp is working with Blanchard superintendent Dr. Jim Beckham, who last school year presented proposals twice to the OSSAA Board of Directors seeking to place private schools in their own classification during the playoffs. Each time, his proposal failed.
But now the Senate is stepping in for a discussion. But Sharp said his goal is not to create legislation, but instead bring action from within the OSSAA. ...

Of course the good Senator will oblige the single focused superintendent, otherwise he might have to do something much more difficult and needed - like making sure our state agencies are audited, helping our public schools gain necessary funding and getting our underpaid and overworked teachers the raises they have deserved for ten years. But, hey - it is more inmportant to make sure Blanchard doesn't get their backsides whipped by Heritage Hall... AGAIN. SMH
