District Predictions Top 4 And State Championship

Not much I would change on your listing, however I don't believe Ringling will play for a title this year. Not because they won't be good, because they will be really good and very physical and probably district champs! But they seem to play a slower pace game, they try to control the clock and out physical their opponents. Teams like Cashion, Stroud, Minco who have the big men up front on both sides of the ball to be just as physical as Ringling but have more explosive offences and score alot more points. I believe it will be hard for them until they develop a better passing game. Just an opinion! Can't wait to get started!!

I agree, Mtown. I love my Blue Devils above all others, as I'm sure you will attest, but I agree with you in that until they develop a more rounded offensive game, their chances are slim-to-none to be in the final four, much less the championship outing. Not to beat a dead horse, but Gandy & Co would have had them there this year and last. Well, OK, it WAS to beat a dead horse. So sue me!

District A1- I think this is an accurate picture here but believe that OBA Is in the mix too.



District A2- Very confused on the unreal prediction out of District A2, I think 1 in that district is up for grabs between Frederick, Hobart, and Mangum. I think 4th spot is between Sayre and Merritt, no one Cordell is top 4 in that district this year. Hobart lost 85% of their starters on offense and defense they will still be good as well coaches as they are and what they have returning up front. Frederick will bring back good skill kids but have question marks up front and experience questions. Mangum has an argument for having one of the best QBs in Class A 6'3" 205 and won MVP at OK ST, TTU, AND TCU camps this summer as well as a great move in from Nachodoches TX. Sayre will have young talent back and Merritt is well coached. 

District A3- Toughest District in the state but a very accurate prediction of how the district shapes up. I think Cashion is the favorite this year for Class A and think any of the other 3 teams could be Top 5 in Class A. Minco is very talented in a lot of areas and if they can stay healthy will turn heads.

District A4- This is Ringling's district though they lose their entire offensive front and 2 more really talented skill kids they are Ringling and breed success. Like I've seen they will have to make some schematic adjustments to make a big push, they hire of Koon's other two sons makes them even better as a staff as both are very intelligent football minds. The Young RB and the QB will be great but the question will be up front. I think Boone-Apache is definitely number 2 but do believe they have upset potential can they stay healthy through their tough non district schedule. I believe Elmore will finish above Rush as Rush lost stud QB and lost the good kid that was coming up to OKC for basketball as a top state prospect. Elmore will be huge up front but will have questions at skill positions. I think Dibble has a lot of young talent and if developed could be 3rd or 4th as well! From what I've seen on this forum is the new coach isn't great at developing talent just can run with good talent. 

District A5- This district could go a number of different ways, I can see Tonkawa, Pawnee, Pawhuska, and Morrison finish number 1 here. How healthy they stay will be a huge question as it has haunted them in the past. Hominy has upset potential as well in my opinion. 

District A6- I think this is a very accurate prediction with questions on 3/4 think this could go either way here.

District A7- Great prediction in this district, I think Wynnewood is a wild card who do they get back out do the loss of the good kids effect think? They could surprise some people with this group and make a push for 2nd. Stroud is way too talented for this district and in my opinion is the second best team in Class A very talented  up front and at the skill positions. 


District A8- This is Gore's to win this year if they stay healthy. Talihina is definitely second but could see some upset potential. Warner and Hulbert compete for the 4th spot.

Dtrain, we need to get a cup of coffee at the Minco/Wynnewood game.

Would love to but i doubt i will be at the game that week. I'm a Completion Engineer for Exxon Mobil and with the fire we just had at one of the refineries we have i doubt i will get to go to the Minco game or even the first couple games. I don't know if you know much about refineries or the oil business but when we have fires or explosions it's all hands on deck especially for us engineers.

I’ll be very interested to watch Stroud play Wynnewood this year. That will more than likely *sigh* be the toughest game Stroud plays in the regular season, unless one of their non-district match-ups are better than what I’m anticipating.

Wynnewood gets the Tigers on their turf this year, so we’ll see if that will bring a little something extra out of them. Curious to see what Wynnewood will look like with a new and I would assume (hate making assumptions) improved QB, as Wynnewood was limited to 6-20 passing last year against Stroud.

And not bashing Wynnewood, but Patterson was held to 19 yards last year and the score was 41-0 until finally scoring late in the 4th on the reserves. Hopefully the new staff will get it figured out as the more competitive games we can play before the playoffs, the better tested we will be.

Huh? Wynnewood hardly even gets penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct i don't know where you got that from. They get a lot of False Start and Holding penalties but far as getting penalties for trash talking or unsportsmanlike conduct very rarely happens. Now certain teams mainly Konowa and Wewoka that Wynnewood plays get those penalties for trying to start fights with us but that's been going on for 30 plus years and they usually end up getting penalized not us. Allen tried to fight with us last year and we didn't pull away till the end of the 3rd because penalties kept halting the game because Allen decided they came to fight not to play football. I don't know if you know but Allen has been known to get into fights and have unsportsmanlike conduct not just in football but on the basketball court as well. Go back to to the 1st round playoff game in 2016 even Ringling tried to start a fight with us after one of their players hit one of ours way late out of bounds then proceeded to start shoving other players on the sideline and a scuffle broke out where the police had to run over their to break it up. Trust me it's not Wynnewood it's the teams they play that run their mouths or try to start stuff. I know some Wynnewood folks might get mad at this but the kids who have been playing for Wynnewood the last several years have are very soft and mild mannered i highly doubt they would be starting any crap with anybody.

I don't know what games you have been watching but you definitely haven't been watching much of Wynnewood play. You must be thinking about the old Wynnewood teams back in the day when guys like James Allen would take their helmet off after scoring a TD and start barking at the other team. These kids currently don't have the balls to do crap like that.
